Real Madrid vs Osasuna: V.I.P. access to 7th heaven

As I read in one of the previews written by Phil Ball, he conveyed to his readers: all teams must look to win as there is an international break coming and no team would want to train for two weeks under the clouds of defeat. But it seems Real Madrid playing for the first home game at 1200 hrs CET had different plans or you can say they only wanted VIP access to 7th heaven nothing less.

NEVER TRY HUNTING THE HUNTER:

Party like a Rockstar

Pepe is the hunter for the Real Madrid side, no doubt he is a bit short tempered neither there is any doubt that sometimes his tackles are just ruthless. But for the first 30 odd minute there was something too fishy with the way Pepe was playing he was on regular interval getting clattered by the Osasuna players as if they were trying to hunt down or tame the beast. The positive that came out of this 30 minute window was, in place of losing his head and doing something ridiculous Pepe replied with a beautifully placed header from a Di Maria cross. So the lesson learnt by the Osasuna players is when you try hunting the hunter in 90% cases these action will return to haunt you.

HOW QUICK SHOULD A QUICK FK ACTUALLY BE?

One of the Osasuna forwards is fouled just outside the Merengues box and while the referee is about to take out his card, defenders are measuring up for the wall and the cameraman is busy showing the temperature controlled seats of the Bernabeu the Osasuna player takes a quick FK for Ibra to level the score. This is not the first case when quickness of a quick free kick is questioned but the sad part is Casillas didn’t want his clean sheet streak to end in such a fashion.

GOD HAS HIS OWN WAYS:

Animo Angel

Di Maria acts on the field has surely been questioned in recent past but the Argentinean was slowly settling into his groove and settling pretty well with 7 assists in La Liga before this match. And this match was no difference as he provided all three assists for the first three goals in the first half, so I am sure by the end of first half the media must have written all happy happy stuff with respect to the winger. But as it is said God can be a bit harsh some times and that is what I felt when Di Maria was stretchered off the field with hamstring problem.

Most of the Madridistas must have thought it would have been better if Di Maria would have let the ball go outside the line as this was the incident which surely caused the harm to the winger. On the positive side, Real Madrid must be relieved that next is a 14 days long International break which might just be enough time for the Argentine to get back to his running ways. The only reason for me to show such urgency for the Blancos is they have some tricky fixtures coming up, with Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Gijon and then El Clasico next in the fixture.

GOLDEN BOY AND HIS GOLDEN BOOT:

The Golden (Boy) Boot

And he makes another history by becoming the first player to score four hat-tricks in the first 11 matches into a new La Liga season, yes I am talking about the man with the golden boots Cristiano Ronaldo. Sometimes you really feel is the any way to keep him off the spot light if he is not scoring he is assisting and when on his worst days he is neither scoring nor assisting he is never unsuccessful in mesmerizing his followers. There are few questions which troubles me whats with wearing long sleeves in first halves and short in the second halves? I can officially say Marseille’s Valbuena and Ronaldo use the same hair gel because they would run like a cheetah, fall as badly as possible and even head the ball into the goal but their hair never ever even moves an inch.

LONG WALK TOWARDS A FIRST STEP:

You can never understand what must the wait for the 67th minute of today’s match against Osasuna must have felt like for Nuri Sahin. Yes all the lovely Madridistas you read it right finally the Turkish international bought from German champions Dortmund during the summer transfer window has finally made his official debut for the Blancos. I think his words after the match says a lot: “I’m very happy to play my first game at Real Madrid. It’s been a difficult time for me due to injuries.” It’s amazing how all the players were hugging Nuri Sahin after the match and the huge applause in the Bernabeu when Sahin entered the field. As for Sahin’s 23 odd minutes on the field he surely looked a bit nervous at the start, he took a free-kick which was pretty close and he did get a pat on the back from Midfield Maestro Xabi Alonso so it can be said a good start for his stay in Madrid. Officially guys Sahin is no more a ‘Unicorn’.

HERE AND THERE MOMENTS:

  1. It was just amazing to see the Real Madrid playing 11 to come out wearing a t-shirt which said ‘FORZA CASSANO’ and also on behalf of RMadridinfo we wish Cassano a quicky recovery.
  2. Higuain’s goal was pure piece of magic: Ozil dribbles the ball towards the goal cuts it back for Di Maria who slots a through ball for Higuain who curls the ball into the top corner of Fernandez’s net.
  3. With 39 goals scored by Real Madrid in La Liga till now you get a feeling during celebrations Arbeloa waits for everyone to assemble so that finally he can go and jump on top of that. Don’t believe me go check out the celebrations pics.
  4. Benzema is surely growing he seems to be moving around, wanting for the ball to be in his feet but what caught my eyes today was after he scored his first goal after the celebration eh actually pulled back Xabi to discuss some tactics.
  5. Surely Madrid has been king of fast breaks this season but today’s game was all about short one to one passes.
  6. I guess Madridistas can sign a petition requesting Liga BBVA to organize all their games only during this part of the day.
