Diego Costa could be out for upto 6 weeks with a hamstring injury

It's widely being reported that Diego Costa has suffered a hamstring problem in training at Cobham yesterday and could face a spell on the sidelines. Nothing is yet confirmed but there are concerns that he could be out for up to six weeks.Fantastic news isn't it!! Like me, many of you all must have sat watching the end of last season and ongoing problems Costa had with his hamstring at Atletico. It was blatantly obvious that he needed a spell on the sidelines to rest and recover but for one reason or another, Diego Simeone continued to play him which has only made it worse. The problem with injuries such as those, they take time to recover and you need complete rest for the injury to heal properly. I have no doubt in my mind that someone should have made the decision at Atletico last season to take Costa out of selection and forced him to have a spell on the sidelines. The fact that it did not happen has made it worse.Time and time again we would see him being named in the starting eleven only to then come off injured and be replaced including the Champions League Final against local rivals Real Madrid.Being honest, I was surprised that Costa featured in the World Cup in Brazil, so soon after his problems at the end of the season. Granted, Spain didn't feature as much as they would have liked but that's still a risk in my eyes.So to this pre season and the two games we have had so far. Everything seemed to be OK, Costa looked to have recovered and seemed to be fully fit. Now we hear his hamstring has gone again.I just hope that Costa is not missing for six weeks but I am sure Chelsea's medical team will work hard to handle it differently than last season so we do not have the same problems all season. It's disappointing for the big man but if we are honest, it's something all of us were wary of when he signed!
