The Telegraph reports, Chelsea have been rebuffed in a staggering £50 million bid for star striker Gonzalo Higuain. Napoli are said to have warned all potential suitors of their intent to hold on to the 26-year old this January transfer window.

The striker followed manager Jose Mourinho out of Real Madrid only this summer, and the two are still said to be on good terms. Since Higuain’s move to Naples, he has managed to score 13 goals and provide 7 assists in all competitions for the Italian outfit.

The Blues have identified the talented Argentine as the best solution to the problems they are facing in front of goal this season. The three recognised strikers at Stamford Bridge have scored a ridiculous 7 goals between them this season.

However, Chelsea will now have to stump up a fee in excess of £50 million if they want to land their primary target, or turn their attention to the other available strikers if they are to bolster their attacking options this winter.
