Rumour: Chelsea willing to offer Oscar plus cash to sign Real Madrid’s Luka Modric

FIFA agent Francis Gallardo has made the sensational suggestion that Chelsea are willing to offer midfielder Oscar in a player plus cash deal in order to bring Luka Modric back to the Premier League, report the Express.

The Brazilian midfielder has been in fine form for the west Londoners this season but it now seems he could be on his way to the Bernabeu, with form Tottenham Hotspur favourite Modric heading in the opposite direction in the summer.

“This could be a possibility. Mourinho is a fan of the strong Real Madrid star. He knows Modric will be expensive and would be happy to exchange a pretty good Chelsea player. “The player Mourinho wants at Chelsea is Modric and he is willing to include Oscar plus cash in the transaction,” insisted Gallardo.

Oscar has attracted interest from a number of European outfits, including Paris Saint-Germain, and is likely to command a huge transfer fee himself due to his tender years.

However, even if Mourinho has earmarked Modric as a new recruit, he is unlikely to sanction the sale of Oscar, who is clearly in the Portuguese’s future plans as he has been given a starting berth behind the striker in a tactical move that paved the way for Juan Mata’s departure in January.

Meanwhile, after a difficult start to his career in Spain, Modric has started to fulfil his potential under Carlo Ancelotti and a transfer deal involving the pair does not seem likely given the circumstances.
