Mauricio Pochettino looks set to make his first move in the transfer market as Tottenham manager with the Spurs close to signing goalkeeper Michel Vorm from Premier League rivals Swansea, according to reports.

The Dutch international is thought to be set for a medical at White Hart Lane after a transfer fee between the two clubs as well personal terms were agreed.

Vorm looks set to leave the Swans after spending three years at the Liberty stadium. He was one of Brendan Rodgers’ first signing at the club after the Welsh club won promotion to the Premier League in 2011 for a mere £1.5 million from Dutch club FC Utrecht.

The Dutchman had retained the no. 1 spot under Rodgers. Michael Laudrup as well as Gary Monk. However, he began to be heavily linked with various Premier League outfits after the Swans decided to bring in Lukasz Fabianski from Arsenal earlier in the summer.

The competition at Tottenham, however, seems to be even more intense as he will have to challenge French skipper Hugo Lloris, who recently signed a new five-year deal and the 43 year old Brad Friedel for spot of being the number 1 under Pochettino.

Vorm is widely expected to be joined at Tottenham by his Swansea cub-mate Ben Davies as Spurs look to make their first inroads in the transfer market this summer after spending nearly £100 million on player recruitment last time around.
