According to the numbers, Manchester United’s home ground Old Trafford had the loudest atmosphere last weekend among all 10 Premier League fixtures.
The Red Devils played Crystal Palace and won 1-0 thanks to a Juan Mata goal. Both sets of fans contributed to the best atmosphere last weekend, although there were 30,000 more fans than at any other ground.
Reporters from the Press Association had an app on their smartphones which measured decibel levels and came to the conclusion that Old Trafford was the loudest, even though Liverpool hosted Chelsea at Anfield in a clash that normally blows the roof of the stadium.
The sample size was measured between kick-off and the first minute mark when no goals were scored and spectator energy levels are the highest.
They plan to measure decibel levels for the next set of fixtures too.
