Rumor: Fortnite Chapter 6 could be themed around Sky Islands

According to a new rumor that stems from the recent 4chan leak, Fortnite Chapter 6 could be themed around Sky Islands or Floating Islands. While this is a radical change from the normal maps present in Battle Royale, similar things have been featured in-game in seasons gone by. For instance, in Chapter 2 Season 7, floating landmasses were present in-game during the Kymera Invasion.

In Chapter 4, Loot Island was brought back and would rift in during a match, and it would then stay afloat for the remainder of the session. The same can be seen in Chapter 5. Given that sky islands or floating islands are not a new concept, implementing them on a larger scale would not be too outlandish.

In fact, during the Chapter 3 Season 4 live event, the entire island was comprised of tiny floating landmasses. They were then fused together to form the map of Chapter 4. As such, this is not a new concept, but rather something that is yet to be done on a massive scale. That being said, having Fortnite Chapter 6 themed around Sky Islands or Floating Islands could be part of a larger collaboration.

Fortnite Chapter 6 could feature an Avatar (James Cameron) collaboration

The first thing that comes to mind when talking about Sky Islands is the beautiful landscape of Pandora from Avatar. Due to the gravitational anomalies and nature of the planet, landmasses tend to float and are suspended in mid-air. If the rumors from December 2023 are true, Epic Games will eventually collaborate with James Cameron's Avatar.

With developers pushing the boundaries of in-game features and mechanics, nothing is impossible at this point in time. As mentioned, with similar things being featured in-game in seasons gone by and even at present, this is not a weird concept that could be explored and executed. In fact, the community is already excited about the possibilities of Fortnite Chapter 6.

Of course, this is all still based on the image that was leaked on 4chan, but given that it accurately showcases upcoming content, it's more than just basing things on a hunch. Concrete leaks pertaining to Fortnite Chapter 6 will likely not appear for a few months at least. At the time being the focus is on Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 (apocalypse-themed) and Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 5 (OG).

That being said, it will be a while before leakers/dataminers get their hands on in-depth information related to Fortnite Chapter 6. Until then, it's mostly based on the interpretation of the leaked image that was posted on 4chan and a lot of wishful thinking. Then again, knowing Epic Games, anything is possible at this point in time.
