EA Sports have unveiled the 10 new legends that will be up for grabs in FIFA 17 Ultimate Team. FIFA Ultimate Team or commonly known as FUT is a mode in FIFA where you build teams using any players from all the leagues to play offline and online. It’s not like Career Mode here you buy the players you need from the clubs they are at but rather like a stock market where the same player is owned by multiple teams. You shouldn’t be surprised if you end up playing someone with the exact same starting XI as you.

Here are the new legends included in this year’s game:

#10 - Ole Gunnar Solskjær

The Manchester United legend is finally in the game! The baby-faced Norwegian forward had retired from football in 2007 but FIFA were busy adding other legendary players that they somehow skipped Ole from the list every time.

Solskjær has been given a rating of 86 with a pace of 83 and shot power of 86! That is pretty decent for a striker and will be a great addition to your team. He’s 5’10” so don’t expect him to win many headers but with a weak foot ability of 4 star, he’s someone who will be able to shoot from any side, any angle, and any range!

#9 - Jamie Carragher

3 years after his retirement, Jamie Carragher makes it to the FIFA Ultimate Team legendary list. The center back who spent his entire career at Liverpool is someone whom the Anfield faithful have been asking for in the Ultimate Team list.

Carragher is a tall center back who’s very solid at the back. His pace of 64 might put you off from keeping him in your team but his defensive work-rate and physicality is something very few players can match. He’ll also prove to be a very good player when you get corners as he can jump and head the ball very well. EA Sports FIFA have given his a rating of 86.

#8 - Luis Hernandez

Mexico’s legendary striker has been a surprise inclusion in this year’s Ultimate Team Legendary list. 11 years since the striker retired, FIFA have decided that it’s about time he get’s the recognition he deserves.

Hernandez is a striker who has played for many South American clubs like Boca Juniors, Cruz Azul, Querétaro, Necaxa and LA Galaxy. He’s got a rating of 87. With the pace being 92, shot power of 87 and dribbling of 87, he’s someone who’ll be similar to Dybala.

#7 - Emmanuel Petit

In terms of his career, many might say he did a Thierry Henry or Cesc Fabregas but he’s more like a N’Golo Kante like of player. Why Henry and Fabregas? He joined Arsenal from AS Monaco and then moved to Barcelona. And Fabregas because he moved from Arsenal to Barcelona and then joined Chelsea.

Even though I compared his Kante, he’s not got the pace of his fellow Frenchman. Petit can be very good to stop counter attacks and also make the necessary interceptions when the forwards lose the ball. He’s rated at 87 and can be one of the best Central Defensive Midfielders in the can easily.

#6 - Juan Sebastian Veron

He’s here! He’s finally here! Veron has been one of the names that many have been wanting to in the game. A FIFA 04 legend who’s always been a favourite of the gamers who have played the game since FIFA 2000.

If you are someone who loves shooting from long range, Veron is a must in your team. He’s got a shot power of 82 and a pass rating of 87. Apart from that, he’ll able to dribble easily and can also muscle the opponents off the ball. A central Midfielder who’s rated at 88 - Veron is someone you should keep an eye out for.

#5 - Rio Ferdinand

This Manchester United and England legend needs no introduction whatsoever. Rated as one of the best central defender of this generation, Rio is someone can ensure that you keep more clean sheets than what you do right now.

Rated at 88, this 34-year-old defender even has a pace of 81. Defensive ability of 90 and a physique of 87, he can easily bully striker. Adding to this, he can prove to be a very important player in the box when you are taking a corner and even when you are defending corners.

#4 - Marc Overmars

The former Ajax and Arsenal winger has been added to the FIFA Legends list this year and there will be a very few who would argue against it. The Dutchman who is known for his pace and crossing is someone who can be very very useful for any FIFA player. Despite retiring in 2004, he made a professional comeback and play the 2008/09 season for Go Ahead Eagles.

In FIFA terms, he’s someone who’s very similar to Eden Hazard. The two are rated at 88 and have almost similar ratings in every department. Overmars has a pace of 94 and can dribble past many with ease. He’s got 80 for shooting and has a 5-star weak foot ability - this can prove to be an important reason for you to choose him over other wingers.

#3 - Paul Scholes

England’s best midfielder has been added to the FIFA Legends list 3 years after his retirement. The Manchester United legend who spent his entire career at Old Trafford can dominate the midfield and make stunning passes.

Scholes is rated at 89 and that is more than any midfielder currently at Manchester United. He’s pass ability is rated at 89 - which many might argue being still too low. Without a doubt, all manchester United would surely get him into their team but even if you are someone who hates, the Red Devils, you must get him in your team.

#2 - Alessandro Del Piero

Juventus legend is an understatement for this magnificent footballer! He’s a forward who almost all the upcoming players learn a lot from. He played 513 times for Juve in his 19 years at the club and then moved to Australia, where he played for Sydney FC. He last played in India for Delhi Dynamos in 2014 and despite being 39 that times, he managed to play well and also scored once in his 10 apps.

Rated at 90, Del Piero has it all - pace, shot power, passing, dribbling and also a very good weak foot. The former Juve forward has a pace of 85 and a shot power of 89 that along with an insane dribbling rating of 92. The 41-year-old can easily be one of the best players you can sign in Ultimate Team.

#1 - Carles Puyol

Arguably the best defender in the history of FC Barcelona and maybe even Spain. Puyol was one defender who no striker wanted to come up against. After Jamie Carragher and Paul Scholes, Puyol is the 3rd player in the New Legends list who has spent his entire career at one club.

Puyol is the highest rated legend among the new ones added this year with a rating of 90. He’s got a defensive attribute of 91 and also a physique of 91. He can be the best addition to your team and make sure that you don’t let go of him if you manage to get him in one of the packs. He’s rock solid in the heart of the defense and if you manage to get another good central defender, there is nothing you need to worry about in terms of conceding goals.
