Bengaluru Bulls set to 'charge' in season 2 of Pro Kabaddi League

Bengaluru Bulls, the city's own kabaddi franchisee is all geared up for the second season of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). The franchise owned by Kosmik Sport League comprises of 23 players from across the nation and also has 3 international players from Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Poland.

Leading the charge at the event, Captain Manjeet Chillar introduced the team and the new striking team jersey. Having reached the semi-finals in season 1, the Bulls are now geared up to the challenge of winning the league this time.

Under the guidance of Coach Randhir Singh, an Arjuna awardee winner and an experienced campaigner, the team is confident of going all the way in the tournament this season.

The second season of the PKL is scheduled to begin on 18th July, 2015 and matches will be played in Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Patna, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore and Delhi. The league will feature 8 distinct city-based teams competing for the title. Bengaluru Bulls will face Bengal Warriors in their first match at NSCI, Mumbai.

Speaking at the launch Mr. Uday Sinh Wala, CEO Kosmik Sport League and owner of Bengaluru Bulls said, “We have put together a good team combination this season – a nice mix of experience and youth which we believe can win us the league. It is especially going to be exciting to see the performances of some of the young talent, who have been inducted into the team.

“Last year we got a great response from fans in Bengaluru and we could feel the energy of fans helping the players go the extra mile while playing, we are hoping for more of the same this season. With more time for preparation, I am also expecting the league to be more competitive this time and I wish all the teams my very best.”

With an endeavour to establish a successful sports franchise, Kosmik intends to professionalize the sport of kabaddi in India. Through initiatives such as launching a kabaddi academy and a school activation program to hone young talent, the franchisee will strive to elevate kabaddi and promote players at the grassroots level to showcase their talent at the PKL strives to make kabaddi a popular sport in India and creates a platform to promote grassroots talent.

This unique effort has the formal backing by the International Kabaddi Federation (IKF), the Asian Kabaddi Federation (AKF) and the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI).
