Cody Rhodes shows some respect to Carmelo post-match, but Hayes didn't seem happy and left the ring in pain. He sits on the apron looking unhappy as Cody celebrates on the ropes with the Undisputed WWE Championship. The crowd "whoa's" in time with his theme.

As the show is about to end, AJ Styles is in the ring! He stars Cody Rhodes down. The crowd chants for Cody as they stare daggers and AJ seemingly talks smack. They then shake hands as the final shot.

Cody and Carmelo are doing great together. Rhodes eventually hits a running powerslam, but he only gets a two count. As the crowd fires up, The American Nightmare hits the ropes and nails The Cody Cutter! This one is over, one, two, NO! Carmelo kicks out!

Rhodes goes for a back drop but Carmelo lands on his feet. He hits The First 48 and climbs to the top rope, but Cody avoids a move. Rhodes hits a superkick and both men are tired. Both men attempt dives, but Cody goes too soon and both men crash and burn. Rhodes then hits the Cross Rhodes. It looks like they were going for a springboard cody cutter but didn't time it right, so it was a botch. Cody pins Carmelo after the CrossRhodes.

Carmelo nearly defeating the world champion is huge! Loud "Cody" chants as Cody fires up. He lifts Carmelo onto his shoulders, but Hayes reverses and teases a CrossRhodes only to get pinned for a two. Cody then hits a beautiful Disaster Kick that causes Carmelo to do a flip. That was incredible.

After presumably the final break of the show, we see Cody Rhodes in control. The two trade some holds and Carmelo hits a big chop. They then start trading some blows which ends with Hayes hitting a back elbow. He then chokes Cody in the corner with his boot. Cody lures Carmelo in and hits a big chop, only for Carmelo to hit his own. Cody then turns it back into another.

Rhodes whips Melo into the opposite buckle and hits a back drop. Cody then fires up but Carmelo hits a face buster and beautiful springboard DDT for a two-count! Wow!

Carmelo Hayes makes his way out next, and the NXT locker room is shown watching on. Cody Rhodes' music then plays. It is main event time.

Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes

This should be a lot of fun. The fans seem interested in this one, and "Cody" chants are heard as soon as the bell sounds. Cody and Melo go back and forth, with Cody hitting a jab. Hayes then hits a springboard body block but gets nailed with a clothesline afterward.

CM Punk was promoted for tonight but never appeared. He is now being promoted for RAW on Monday.

Back from break and WWE recaps Kiana James being drafted. We then see Kayla standing by with Nick Aldis. He reveals Bayley, Tiffany Stratton, and Naomi will clash for the WWE Women's Title at Backlash France! Nick then has Teddy Long announce that The Bloodline will take on Randy Orton and Kevin Owens! Both of those matches are huge for the Premium Live Event!

After that, we see highlights from NXT Spring Breakin' week 1. Then Carmelo Hayes is shown walking backstage, ready for his main event with Cody Rhodes. An ad for NXT Battleground is shown next before we go to the commercial.

The main event presumably starts next.

We go to the WWE PC, where Jackie Redmond talks to Kiana James. She asks what it means to James. Kiana says every move she made got her to this moment.

Shawn Michaels then shows up and shakes her hand, whispering words into her ear. They hug as the NXT stars cheer Kiana on.

The third pick of the fourth round is SmackDown, which is selecting Andrade! This is big!
The final pick of the round is RAW selecting NXT's Kiana James! That's very cool.

The first pick of the fourth round sees AJ Styles remaining on SmackDown!
Next, RAW selects the entire Alpha Academy stable, including Gable, Otis, Tozawa, and Maxxine.

We're back from break, and Karrion Kross is shown with Scarlett, loud noises in the background. We then see AOP with Paul Ellering brutally attacking the New Catch Republic. Kross says the violence will continue no matter where they end up.

From there, JBL and Teddy Long will announce the next draft pick selections!

Backstage, The Street Profits and B-Fab are together asking where Bobby is. Byron shows up and reveals that The Street Profits will challenge A-Town Down Under for the tag team titles. A-Town Down Under then interrupts and gets braggy, including taking a shot at The Bengals. Bobby Lashley then shows up, and the pair run away.

From there, we see WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long and Hall of Famer JBL! They'll be out next!

Naomi hits a running corner bulldog when Nia Jax suddenly appears! She attacks Bayley at ringside, and Naomi sees it, running and attacking the powerful woman. Nia snaps and throws Naomi into the ring post. She then clobbers Bayley. This match is called off.

Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton ends in a no contest

Tiffany Stratton smiles as Nia leaves. She then rolls Naomi and Bayley into the ring. From there, Tiffany hits the Prettiest Moonsault Ever on both women again! Wow.

Back from break, Tiffany Stratton hits a spinebuster on Naomi for a two-count. Naomi then counters moves as they go back and forth, which leads to a head scissors driver by Naomi and a near fall. Bayley says she hopes Tiffany and Naomi stay on SmackDown because she has unfinished business.

In the ring, both women charged and did a double head takedown for a double down, and the crowd cheered. Once on their feet, Naomi hit repeated strikes, and Tiffany countered. She attempts a suplex, but Naomi counters with a kick!

Tiffany goes for a move off of the ropes, but Tiffany moves. Tiffany then drops Naomi onto the rope and does a running hip attack. Naomi goes on the apron but manages to counter a move into a modified piledriver. She then hits a scissors split take down! She mocks the Tiffy Time gesture, and Bayley cheers her on as we go to break.

Sheamus was on SmackDown before his injury but has only appeared on RAW since returning, so the move appears formal. Next up, Tiffany Stratton's music hits. She gives The Dudleys attitude and walks down the ramp. Bayley is on commentary, as Tiffany requested. Then Naomi's music hits. Her theme is excellent.

Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton

Naomi gets the upper hand early, and Tiffany goes to the floor. Naomi hits a baseball slide and then slams Tiffany against the apron. Wade Barrett questions Bayley's new attitude, and she calls him an idiot.

Ricochet picked so high, which is definitely surprising.

Next up, SmackDown chooses The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Paul Heyman! Finally!
Lastly, RAW selects Sheamus! He has been appearing there lately, but it is a great pick.

Back from break, The Dudleys come out. They will be doing the next part of the Draft. Loud "we want tables" and "ECW chants." The Dudleys then put on their classic glasses.

Round 3 starts with Bubba Ray revealing that SmackDown selects LA Knight!
Next, RAW selects Ricochet to remain on RAW! This is a high spot for the high flyer.

Orton and Owens stand tall in the ring and hug, which leads to Kevin running out again to try to fight The Bloodline, but there is too much security. These two teams will collide sooner rather than later.

Next, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley are both here! The Hall of Famers will be revealing draft picks soon.

The Kabuki Warrior's music hits, and Kayla bolts. They stare down and argue with Bianca, but then Jade's music hits! She walks out with a purpose. The four women are arguing when Kevin Owens and Tama Tonga are suddenly fighting through the entrance! The four talented female stars disperse as Tama and Owens brawl to the ring.

Solo Sikoa then shows up, and the two start beating Kevin down. Security and referees rush out, and Tama attacks them. Then suddenly, Randy Orton's music hits! He comes out and begins to fight off The Bloodline as security and referees continue to come out to split the groups up.

In the ramp, Kayla Braxton is with the first overall pick of the draft, Bianca Belair! Belair comes out to big applause from the fans. Kayla reveals Belair and Jade Cargill will fight The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles at Backlash. Bianca says she hopes Jade is drafted to SmackDown on Monday and says she and Jade are perfect to dethrone Damage CTRL.

Bianca says the tag team titles are the last piece to end Damage CTRL. They say if they win the titles, The Kabuki Warriors won't have reason to appear on SmackDown.

Solo Sikoa asks Paul Heyman to repeat that, and Heyman is terrified. Then, out of nowhere, Kevin Owens shows up! He jumps them and brawls with Tama, but security and referees pull them apart. Tama and Owens are ready to throw down!

Paul Heyman keeps getting on Solo's bad side.

From there, we see a replay of The Bloodline destroying Kevin Owens last week and Nick Aldis threatening Heyman.

Then we see Paul Heyman nervous backstage and a car arrives. He is apologizing as Solo Sikoa gets out of the ride. He says he'll get the door for Solo from now on. Sikoa says The Bloodline isn't drafted, right? Solo says to give him all the details. Paul reveals that Roman withdrew from the draft, and nobody knows what they're getting when they draft The Bloodline, thanks to Solo adding new members. Tama Tonga then shows up with Solo.

SmackDown's next pick is revealed to be Nia Jax. Could she join The Bloodline?

RAW's pick, the final of the second round, is Liv Morgan! Liv will be staying where she is.

The commentary team notes that The Bloodline hasn't been selected yet, and they are surprised.

After the break, WWE legend Michelle McCool and WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson are brought out for the draft. They go to the podium, and Michelle McCool selects for SmackDown.

Randy Orton is the first pick of the second round and will stay on SmackDown!
RAW is next to pick, and they select Bron Breakker! Wow! He had just signed with SmackDown. What a steal.

Bayley takes credit for it and says either Naomi earns the big match she deserves or Bayley can get her hands on Tiffany. Stratton then challenges Bayley to come to ringside for the match.

We then see Michelle McCool and Torrie Wilson walking backstage. They will deliver draft picks after the break!

Interestingly, another White Rabbit-style teaser and malfunction took place during the replay; we might be getting a reveal soon. Could it be tonight? Maybe. From there, we see Tiffany Stratton attacking Bayley and Naomi last week.

Next up, Nick Aldis is shown walking backstage, and Tiffany appears. She calls herself the center of the universe and mentions dropping both stars. Nick says he was close to sending her to the back of the line. Aldis then says Tiffany and Naomi will clash tonight for a number one contenders shot. Tiffany asks who's idea was that, and Bayley shows up.

Bron Breakker vs. Cedric Alexander

This match starts with Cedric already in the ring and without an entrance. Almost immediately, Bron counters as fancy springboard back kick with a Spear and wins in seconds.

It is OFFICIAL! Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes happens tonight.

The theme of big NXT stars continues with Bron Breakker's music hits. Breakker makes his way out and he looks to make a statement.

As Rey and Lee celebrate, Santos Escobar and Elektra Lopez come out. Santos says he is many things, but a liar he is not. Santos says that when he says he did not attack Dragon Lee ahead of WrestleMania 40, he means it. He then says Elektra has been working for weeks to get the security footage, and they have it! Santos says what Rey is about to see he'll find very interesting.

Footage then revealed Carlito was the one who attacked him! Carlito blindsided him and then came back asking for help.

In the ring, Carlito then pushes Lee into Rey and hits the backstabber on Lee. Carlito then runs out!

Back from break and Dragon Lee tags in Rey Mysterio! The legend gets a huge pop and hits a big seated senton followed by the Code Red. Berto breaks up the fall but Rey ranas him to the floor. Angel then kicks Rey in the gut and puts him on his shoulders. Mysterio slides down and Angel attempts a double underhook but Rey counters! 619!

Rey tags Dragon Lee and Lee hits the Project Dragon, the LWO win!

Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee defeat Angel and Berto via pinfall

Lee hits a big crossbody for a quick pin but doesn't get it. At one point, Lee hits the ropes but Angel, while on the apron, pulls down the ropes. This causes Dragon Lee to crash to the floor! The LWO comes over to check on him after a dangerous bump as we take another break already.

After the break, Rey Mysterio is in the ring alongside Dragon Lee. The two will battle Berto and Angel.

Latino World Order vs. Legado Del Fantasma

Berto and Dragon Lee start things off and Lee hits a big Rana. He then hits a huge dive to the floor on Berto and throws the Legado member back in the ring.

Cody says being Undisputed WWE Champion means Carmelo is on. They then shake hands, but Carmelo gives Cody attitude as they leave. Cody Rhodes vs. Carmelo Hayes TONIGHT!!

We then see the Latino World Order minus Wilde and Del Toro walking backstage as we go to break.

Carmelo Hayes' music then hits! He comes out with a microphone and gets a big pop from the crowd. He calls himself the hottest out and a loud "whoop that Trick" chants starts. He then addresses Cody. He says Cody says "if you come for the king, you best not miss." Hayes says when he shoots, he doesn't miss. He says he will shoot his shot and shoot it against Cody.

Rhodes takes the microphone and says fortune favors the bold and asks if the fans want to see him in action tonight. Cody jokes what if he forgot his gear. He says he didn't forget the gear.

SmackDown's second choice is.. NXT's Carmelo Hayes! Wow! That's HUGE. This is the first time a NXT star has been selected in round 1.
The final pick of round 1 and RAW chose.. Seth Rollins! That's huge for sure. So far Carmelo is the only major change, but all the picks are intriguing.

Triple H welcomes fans to the show and mentions this draft is different. He says its just as much about protecting the roster they have as it is about getting the roster they want. He says there is just as much of a chance to gain a star as there is to lose one. Cody then assists in naming the first picks!

SmackDown's first pick is: Bianca Belair!
RAW's first pick is then revealed: Main Event Jey Uso!

As Cody goes to leave, Triple H's music hits! Cody turns around surprised on the ramp. The Game then smiles and they shake hands. From there, Triple H takes the podium.

Loud Cody chants and he signs the contract. He then stands up and offers his hand to AJ. AJ doesn't shake it and says it was a beautiful thing to see Cody finish his story, but its a shame the title reign will end at Backlash. He then shakes his hand after the devious promise. AJ then turns to leave and the two have a stare down.

Cody gets the mic and gets a pop from the crowd. He then says there isn't a locker room in the world that doesn't respect AJ Styles. He once again compares him to Bret Hart by calling him the Excellence of Execution. Cody says AJ implied that Rhodes can't carry the weight of the title, but he learned its not about winning the title, its about keeping it.

Cody then says this match isn't a dream match, its must-win.

AJ Styles says a man who gave him advice probably gave Cody advice too and he mentions Dusty Rhodes. Loud "Dusty" chants follow. He says Dusty was a good man and he taught him a lot. He says Dusty taught him how to be a champion. AJ says the weight of the Undisputed WWE Title isn't just leather and gold and at Backlash, they're going to see if Cody can carry it. AJ then signs the contract.

WWE showcasing that anti-AEW sign is definitely interesting. A major shot from the fan and maybe from WWE as a whole.

AJ Styles grabs the mic and he admits LA Knight got under his skin and that's why he lost at WrestleMania. He says he got his composure back and realized he is phenomenal and earned the right to challenge Cody. AJ says unlike Knight, Styles does respect Cody. He mentions they've been down the same roads and they had to prove themselves outside of WWE, which leads to the crowd chanting "what?"

Next up, Cody Rhodes makes his way out to the ring to a massive applause from the crowd. He slaps the hands with fans on the way and it is clear they love him. Notably, there was an "Arenas Empty Wrestling" sign in the crowd taking a shot at AEW which the camera didn't hide from. WWE surely wanted fans to see it.
