Mike Perry heard rumblings that Darren Till denied a large purse to fight him in bare-knuckle boxing.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Perry got into details on how the long-discussed Till fight was looked into for April 27 but alas did not come to be.

When Helwani mentioned how he had heard the former UFC welterweight title challenger said no to a lot of money to headline KnuckleMania IV opposite 'Platinum', Perry responded:

"I heard he said no to over $2 Million dollars. So you know, Darren is just yapping away over there. A lot of guys say they want to do it with boxing gloves or with gloves at least of some kind. With the BKFC contract I have, that money is there. Those fights will happen in the future at some point. But a big part of the contract is that I can do other things as well."
"If the right money comes along, it just has to be right because I'm being paid very handsomely over here in BKFC. After this fight it's like all I've been doing is promoting for them and I'm focused on this fight. But just to branch out and put my ideas and my thoughts, I have a big opportunity to make the same amount of money if the right promoters come together to make fights happen in other places. So Darren Till said no to that much money then I don't know what he's looking for."

Mike Perry and his KnuckleMania IV assignment

The 32-year-old Mike Perry will still be headlining KunckleMania IV but Perry will instead be clashing with a former BKFC champion. Mike Perry will knuckle up and toe the line against the inaugural BKFC middleweight champion Thiago Alves in the coming days.

The Michigan native again tops the marquee, this time versus the Brazilian bruiser, and the fistic fireworks go down at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on April 27 as mentioned. Alves will make his return to the sport after nearly three years away from cementing himself as the first-ever 175-pound champion in BKFC.

Alves is 2-0 in bare-knuckle boxing but Perry has also maintained a spotless record in the sport. Perry has a history with this event too as he made his promotional debut at KnuckleMania II by beating Julian Lane who Alves also fought in gloveless combat. Since then, 'Platinum' has racked up wins over Michael 'Venom' Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez in BKFC.
