It seems like everybody wants a piece of Takeru Segawa these days, and Taiki Naito has joined that long list. 'Silent Sniper' had some harsh words for his Japanese compatriot in the wake of his sensational victory over Johan Estupinan at ONE Fight Night 32 last June 6 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Post-match, Naito expressed his desire to lock horns with 'The Natural Born Krusher' to Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post.
The 29-year-old stoked the flames by calling Takeru 'overrated'. He said:

"And also someone like Takeru, who came after me, who got the contract, came after me. I think that's a little bit overrated. So I want to have a fight, something like underrated fighting overrated. I want to switch that [narrative]."
Now that's one way to get Takeru's attention. Looks like Taiki Naito is done flying under the radar and now wants to call his shots. The Bell Wood Fight Team affiliate certainly put himself in a good position to do so after snapping Estupinan's immaculate 27-0 record by handing him a beatdown at ONE Fight Night 32.
Taiki Naito has shown what he's truly capable of against Johan Estupinan
Johan Estupinan was ravaging everyone in his wake until he ran into a brick wall in the form of Taiki Naito.
'Silent Sniper' stayed composed amidst 'Panda Kick's' whirling dervish of wild attacks and used precise movement and counterstriking to push him off the ranks of the undefeated.
Naito was able to knock down the fiery Colombian twice en route to a decisive unanimous decision victory. In the same interview with Nick Atkin, the Japanese veteran expressed hope that he would be taken seriously after his remarkable showcase.
"My performance today speaks for itself. The performance is everything I wanted against a strong fighter."
