Watch: Daniel Cormier-controlled Leon Edwards KOs Khamzat Chimaev and tributes his left high-kick

Daniel Cormier recently took on surging UFC lightweight contender Terrance McKinney in the UFC 4 video game. Cormier chose Leon Edwards as his fighter, while McKinney chose Khamzat Chimaev. 'DC' used Edwards' superior striking skills to decimate 'Borz' in the game.

Cormier relied heavily on Edwards' kicking game and claimed to have finished the fight with the same strike that won 'Rocky' the UFC welterweight title. The KO itself was not shown in the video on McKinney's YouTube channel. However, leading up to the finish, 'DC' landed several left high kicks successfully, and seemed well-versed in the UFC 4 game.

Following the KO, Daniel Cormier said:

"LEFT HIGH KICK! Pound-for-pound what! Terrance you're done bruh."

Leon Edwards famously knocked out Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 with less than a minute left in the final round. 'Rocky' was down on the judges' scorecards and needed a finish to secure the title, which is exactly what happened.

The kick sent shockwaves throughout the MMA world, and the KO has been deemed by several MMA personalities, including Joe Rogan, as the greatest head-kick knockout of all time.

Edwards' post-fight interview in the octagon was also an iconic moment, as the newly crowned welterweight champion uttered the following:

"They all said I couldn't do it! Look at me now! Leveler. POUND-FOR-POUND. HEADSHOT. DEAD. THAT'S IT."

Daniel Cormier speculates on the skeletons in Kamaru Usman's closet ahead of Leon Edwards trilogy

Daniel Cormier is concerned about the effects that being KO'd at UFC 278 will have on Kamaru Usman's mentality going forward.

Usman and Leon Edwards are set to face off for the third time at UFC 286 in London. 'The Nigerian Nightmare' will attempt to avenge his first-ever UFC loss, whereas 'Rocky' will be eager to defend his title for the first time on home soil.

Prior to UFC 278, Usman had an undefeated record in the UFC and held a 15-fight win streak in the promotion, the second-best run behind Anderson Silva's 16.

Daniel Cormier recently analyzed the matchup and stated that Usman may carry self-doubt into UFC 286:

"How does Kamaru approach this fight after what happened? Because you develop an invincibility factor when you did what Kamaru Usman did to start his UFC career. Be on a run that tied Anderson Silva as the longest undefeated streak in history. But when you get put out [cold] like that, and the very next fight you fight the same guy, there has to be some overlaying of what happened in the octagon."
