Fantasy Premier League: 6 players you should pick for Gameweek 11

Diafra Sakho

There are somethings that science can’t quantify. Whether it is eating a hot chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream, cuddling a cute little puppy or scoring that high gameweek score in the Fantasy Premier League, science can’t put a number on it.While I can’t help with the brownie or the puppy, I can certainly endeavour to give you some help on the third front; the Fantasy Premier League. No struggles, no pains. Just sit back and take in the following list which contains name of the players you should keep a keen eye on while making those vital transfers.

#1 Diafra Sakho - West Ham

Diafra Sakho

Diafra Sakho is back in training and likely to lead the frontline this weekend as they welcome Villa to Upton Park. That makes Octobers Player of the Month one of the prime options for inclusion into your side for the Gameweek.

The Senegalese international has been a revelation in his first season in England, scoring in each of his last five starts. Sakhos introduction into the side has truly transformed the West Ham in recent weeks as they now loook a totally different side.

Gone are the days of direct football that Sam Allardyce teams are known for, instead the pace of Sakho and Enner Valencia combined with the surprising nifty skills of Stewart Downing from the middle of the field has given the Londoners a truly different look and feel.

Still priced at a delicious 5.8, Sakho is still a great value and with four home games coming up in his next six games (Aston Villa, Newcastle, Swansea and Leicester), he certainly warrants a glance from every fantasy manager.

#2 Angel Di Maria - Manchester United

Angel Di MAria

I took the gamble last week of swapping Sanchez (who was also my top pick) in for Di Maria and it paid off big time. However, its time again to bring the fleet footed Argentine back into the squad as the Red Devils look to get back to winning ways.

Louis van Gaals men will be welcoming the sight of three home games in their next four games in the Premier League (against Crystal Palace, Hull and Stoke) and should be hoping to use it as a catalyst to move up the table.

Di Maria has ceratinly struggled to produce anything worthy of a headturn in his last two gams against Chelsea and Manchester City. But the wingers pedigree shouldnt be in any doubt and against the lesser (with all due respects to them), you should on the ex-Real Madrid man to deliver big time like he has in his initial games.

#3 Leighton Baines - Everton

Leighton Baines

The inclusion of Leighton Baines always need to re-assurances and second thoughts for the kind of prices that he demands from fantasy owners. However, going by his and Evertons recent form, fantasy ownersshouldnt budge from shelling out 7.1 for the English left-back.

Baines has been averaging awhopping 9.6 points per game in the last three game weeks. Now thate more than any other fantasy player whose names are not Alexis Sanchez or Sergio Aguero. Considering the difference in prices between Baines and the couple of forwards from South America, it shouldnt be too hard to understand why Baines is the most owned defender in the FPL.

Considering the fact that Everton are lined for an away trip to Sunderland (having a vulnerable defence) and have some pretty good home fixtures against West Ham and Hull lined up in Gamweek 12 and 14 respectively, the inclusion od Baines shouldnt really warrant any second-guessing.

#4 Stewart Downing - West Ham)

Stewart Downing

Stewart Downing seems to have a corner in his career this season. The former winger has taken to his role at the middle of the field like a duck to water, propelling West Hams forward movement both on the pitch as well as the league table.

The Englnad international has been the main string-puller for the hammers at the middle of the park. His presence in all of West Hams games is visible and he seems to have that uncanny nack of making others look good as well.

His turn of pace, passing and movement (where goes out to the wings as well to help with the attack) has helped shed the load on Mark Noble and Alex Song tremendously and has made West Ham a side to be feared going forward. His excellence on the pitch in the recent past hasnt gone unnoticed. Downing recently received a call up to the England side by Roy Hodgson.

He is still reasoably priced at 5.8, coming up from his early valuation of 5.5. With four home games to come in his nex six, this should be the right time to hit the iron while its hot.

#5 Sergio Aguero - Manchester City

Sergio Aguero

Manchester City have always found themselves all at sea in Europe and this year is no different. The English champions loss to CSKA Moscow in midweek sees them at the bottom of Group E and with a real fight on their hands if they are to qualify to the next round of the competition.

While the Citizens have always found solace as well as success playing in the more familiar suroundings of England, they have really failed to put a real mark in the country so far this season. Recent losses to West Ham and Newcastle were put behind when they beat cross-town rivals Manchester United in the Manchester derby last week.

City at the moment embodies the spirit of a wounded lion and that is never good news for its opponents. And if that opponent is struggling Queens Park Rangers, Harry Redknapp should really pay heed. Aguero's goal-scoring abilities have never been in doubt, but now he has the task to lead the line and inspire the team with his goal-scoring.

Never bet against Aguero not scoring in a game. At least I won't.

#6 Harry Kane - Totteham

Harry Kane

Harry Kane might finally get his chance to strut his stuff this week. The England U-21 international in recent times has been more than knocking on the doors of Mauricio Pochettino's starting eleven. Seven goals in as many games lays testament should be enough for Kane to make the breakthrough.

While Spurs have struggled to find the back of the net in the Premier League, the youngster has been doing that in all other competitions. With Pochetino opting to play 4-4-2 on many ocassions this season, this home game against Stoke and a partner up-front might be the perfect combination for Kane to bed into the Spurs line-up.

Priced at a cheap 4.8, he can bceome the ultimate bargain forward for the season.
