Video: Ravichandran Ashwin's 3 best carrom balls

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin rose to fame by outfoxing batsmen with his carrom deliveries in the 2010 edition of the Indian Premier League. As days have passed by, batsmen have understood the knack of picking them from his delivery stride. However, he has still found a way to get through their defence on occasions, more so when the pitches aid him. Let's look at some of the best carrom balls bowled by him in the last 5 years.Carrom delivery is a delivery that goes the other way in contrast to a conventional off-spin delivery to a right handed batsman that comes in after pitching.

This had to be the best carrom ball ever. Ashwin bowled a brilliant carrom ball to South African opener Hashim Amla in the ICC T20 World Cup 2014 that turned from leg to clip the top of the off stump. Adam Gilchrist termed this ball as "T-20 ball of the century"

#2 Alien ball to Kulasekara in ICC CT 2013

Nuwan Kulasekara had left the ball thinking that it would be a wide down the leg side and then refused to leave the crease till it was referred to the third umpire, who eventually declared it as 'out': this would say enough about the kind of delivery that Ashwin had bowled to the Sri Lankan player in the semi-finals of the 2013 Champions Trophy.

In a Test match against Australia in 2013, Ashwin bowled a delivery that spun in to the left hander after pitching slightly outside the off-stump line. The Australian pacer took it for a conventional off-spinner and left it in hope that it would turn away, only to see the opposite happening.
