5 reasons why Brock Lesnar's return to UFC is imminent

At WrestleMania 31, Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE World Heavyweight championship against “The chosen one”, Roman Reigns. Reigns has had a phenomenal start to 2015, first by winning the Royal Rumble match in January, and later defeating the former WWE World Heavyweight champion, and the winner of last year’s WrestleMania main event, Daniel Bryan.Although WWE used Bryan to put Reigns over at WWE Fast Lane, with WWE firmly behind Roman, there is no doubt in anybody’s mind that Reigns will win the title from Lesnar at WrestleMania 31.Also, with the recent rumors surrounding Brock’s interest to return to the UFC, and his contract expiring after WrestleMania 31, all signs indicate to a potential return on the cards for the former UFC Heavyweight champion to the organization. In this article, we give you five reasons why a return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship is only imminent for Brock Lesnar after the WrestleMania 31 PPV.

#1 Accomplished everything there is in the WWE

Lesnar returned to the WWE in 2012 after nearly a 7 year hiatus, and immediately brought in the much needed legitimacy to the WWE. During his time with the organization, he feuded with the main event talent such as John Cena, Triple H and The Undertaker. Lesnar has arguably accomplished everything there is in the WWE, which included an earth shattering victory over The Undertaker last year at WrestleMania, ending the phenom’s coveted undefeated streak at the grandest stage.

After he conquered The Undertaker’s undefeated streak, there was only one thing Lesnar had to accomplish, and that was to win the WWE World Heavyweight title. He then feuded with Cena, and defeated the former champion in almost a one – sided contest at SummerSlam, tearing Cena apart with 16 German suplexes! Lesnar has done in 3 years what very few superstars managed to accomplish in their entire careers, as Lesnar became the undisputed WWE World Heavyweight champion.

With Lesnar set to drop the title to Reigns at WrestleMania 31, one can argue that he has done everything there is in the world of professional wrestling, and it is only a matter of time before Lesnar re – signs with the UFC.

#2 Fall out with Vince McMahon

One of the major talking points going into WrestleMania has been Lesnar’s fall out with Vince McMahon over his contract extension. It has been reported by multiple sources that Lesnar and Vince got into a heated argument, and Lesnar stormed out of the arena during an episode of Monday Night RAW.

Although Lesnar will fulfill his obligations and appear at WrestleMania 31 and the following episode of RAW, there is very little to no chance of Lesnar extending his contract with the WWE.

With neither Vince nor Lesnar backing down, it is almost a certainty that Lesnar will leave the organization once his contract expires, and with Brock attending the recent UFC 184 PPV against Vince’s wishes, one can already see the return of the former champion back to the UFC.

#3 Unfinished business in the UFC

Lesnar’s debut in the UFC was just as emphatic as his last fight in the organization, with Lesnar losing to Alistair Overeem in a fight where Overeem completely dominated the former Heavyweight champion. After losing to Alistair in a convincing fashion, Lesnar announced his retirement from the world of mixed martial arts and later signed up with the WWE.

With Lesnar bowing out of MMA suddenly, and with his health issues causing major concerns, it was the best decision for Brock in 2012. But with Lesnar once again at the peak of his health and feeling better now than he did during his tenure with the UFC, Brock still has some unfinished business, and would want to make amends by returning to the organization and redeeming himself in the eyes of the MMA fans.

#4 Next best move for his career

After creating history by beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania and winning the WWE World Heavyweight championship from John Cena, Brock needs to do what is best for his career, and that would be to return to the UFC. With UFC looking to enter the Asian markets and expanding their reach, Lesnar would be the ideal fighter Dana would look at, to cater to the new audience.

Brock, already being a household name, will add to the list of well – established stars among the ranks in the organization. Also, with the Heavyweight category looking a little thin currently in the UFC, Brock would also want to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight championship, and a re – match with Alistair Overeem to set the record straight, and avenge his loss in his final match in the UFC.

#5 A chance to create history

Recently, Ariel Helwani tweeted about CM Punk’s belief that Lesnar would return to the UFC once his contract expires with the WWE, and Punk also suggested “breaking the box office records” by being on the same card as a returning Lesnar on PPV.

If that were to happen, then the duo will undoubtedly shatter UFC’s previous PPV record in gates and revenues, and that would be a huge pay day for Lesnar. With all of these factors being a possibility, Lesnar would definitely want to be a part of history, and that may very well happen later this year!
