5 reasons why Wrestlemania 31 should feature a NXT bout

Recent rumours have suggested that WWE are considering showcasing NXT at Wrestlemania 31 in some capacity. This has created a lot of intrigue and anticipation amongst fans especially those who are aware of the massive amount of talent down in NXT. Furthermore, after the most recent live special, ‘NXT Takeover: Rival’ which was in large a huge success, there should be no doubt in WWE officials minds that booking a NXT match at mania would indeed be the right move.Let’s take a look now at five specific reasons why this is a smart business decision.

#1 Showcases new talent

WWE currently possess a plethora of amazing young talent down in NXT, and a multi-man bout at Wrestlemania would be the perfect chance to showcase their up and coming superstars.

Wrestlers like the NXT champion Sami Zayn, Finn Baylor, Adrian Neville, Kevin Owens, Tyler Breeze, Baron Corbin and Hideo Itami are all incredible performers. A mania match serves as the ideal platform to propel their promising and prosperous careers.

WWE would be very smart to allow these super talented fresh faces, the opportunity to show off their skill on the grandest stage of them all.

#2 Amazing match

It goes without saying that a match featuring any top tier NXT stars would deliver an absolutely amazing bout. Given the right amount of time, they would blow the roof off and threaten to steal the entire show.

NXT have consistently been churning out top quality matches especially at their live specials and a bout at Wrestlemania 31 would be no different.

Anybody who hasn’t seen NXT will be pleasantly surprised to see how astoundingly well they can perform. Those that do watch NXT regularly will be full prepared for the incredible match up that awaits them.

#3 Creates more fan interest for mania

Booking an NXT match at Wrestlemania will undoubtingly bring a substantial boost of interest to the biggest show of the year. Any match involving NXT stars at Wrestlemania will be sure to bring in extra attention and anticipation from die hard NXT enthusiasts.

The buzz thats already been created just through this rumour should be proof enough to WWE officials that booking an NXT bout at Wrestlemania is the right move.

Fans of NXT who know what the roster is capable of, will be all the more excited and also given an extra reason to tune in to Wrestlemania 30 assuming an NXT bout does occur.

#4 Exposes NXT to a wider audience

A bout at Wrestlemania will not only appease the current supporters of the NXT brand, but also expose the NXT universe to an entire to new group of fans.

There are plenty of WWE fans that are yet to see NXT and they are most definitely missing out on some top notch pure wrestling.

Revealing the talents of the NXT roster to a much wider audience would indeed be best for business in the long run. It would attract new followers to the developmental show which in turn would make young talents main roster debuts more special since fans will be used to seeing them and will have watched them evolve. Fans will then become much more invested in the product as a whole.

#5 Raises importance of NXT

Showcasing NXT on the grand stage of Wrestlemania would do a lot to raise the importance of the developmental program and demonstrate to fans that WWE do indeed value NXT.

NXT has become a major part of WWE and is rapidly growing in popularity. WWE need to prove to casual fans that NXT really is important and they will in turn draw in many more new viewers.

If WWE can prove to fans that they do consider NXT a big deal, it will once again bring much more attention to the show and the amazing abundance of talent currently wrestling there.

#6 Final thoughts

If WWE do decide to go ahead with an NXT bout, I personally believe a multi-man match (as rumoured) would be the best option. Involving multiple wrestlers in the match instead of a simple singles bout, allows WWE to showcase even more of its NXT talent.

A possible rumoured ladder match is also a very intriguing option. Its possible to have the match for the NXT Championship or instead they could choose to book a No.1 Contenders match.

Theres also a chance that theyre may not be room on the mania card for an NXT bout, so instead they could find themselves wrestling on the pre-show.

Personally, I would book a 6 man ladder match for the NXT Championship featuring Sami Zayn v Kevin Owens v Finn Baylor v Tyler Breeze v Adrian Neville v Hideo Itami.

In the end, well just have to wait and see what WWE decides to do but hopefully NXT can be used in some capacity for Wrestlemania 31.

An unexpected name just challenged Randy Orton RIGHT HERE.
