The beginning of something great.

NXT was a good show, overall. Firstly it had so many female characters and storylines making developments and the main event picture looking good. Also how great does Balor look with that title besides him?Finn Balor was surprising good on the mic and he didn’t talk much, that was quite well done too. It was a homecoming of sorts for both Balor and Bayley and it showed that Owens will always have a great audience at NXT whenever he returns. One thing is sure, all of the characters hell or face are true NXT loyalists. Here are 5 points to note from this week -

#5 All Red

The beginning of something great.

This was the most publicized event from NXT for the past few weeks. Eva Marie undeniable had a lot of attention over her much talked about ‘wrestling debut’. So much so that this was a make or break situation. It is apparent that she had a lot of expectations to live upto and lot of detractors.

Eva Marie, ladies and gentlemen, did not disappoint. She still has room for improvement but she was aeons away from where she started on the main roster.

This was quite promising. She looked confident and the ‘All Red’ avatar boasts her screen presence.

This was a memorable real debut.

#4 The Hugger returns

Bayley is back

Bayley won her match against Dark Emma in her first match in a long time. And after that very welcomed win, she moved on to what every fan of NXT has been thinking about for a while- The Takeover Brooklyn match for the NXT Women’s title. She spoke about eying the title but before that she wants to prove herself against Charlotte.

But athe biggest takeaway from this was that Bayley is as over as ever. She’s going to face Charlotte and win and she’s going to have that one great match against the Boss Sasha Banks at Takeover and take trhe baton for the NXT Women’s division.

#3 Charlotte answers

NXT loyalist

You know how much it meant for Charlotte to make it to Raw by her backstage promo. She was quite emotional and on the verge of tears. But she also made sure to put over the NXT women’s title and what that means to her. She still wants to walk into raw with that title in hand and agve Baylet the respect she deserves. Out came Dana Brooke and it all led to a probbale match her and the Nature Girl. So, probably, Charlotte is going to win her match against Dana so her momentum is not really hurt with her loss to Bayley.

Also, Alexa Bliss is slowly and surely making her presence felt. She’s arguably the leader of her tag team and a really good heel.

#2 The contract signing

On to the Rematch

The end of the night saw Owens and Balor make way for the contract signing of their NXT Takeover: Brooklyn match.

Regal is right. Everyday NXT just raises the bar.

Owens momentum has greatly shifted on Raw but at NXT, he’s always an MVP. What a heel! He put over the NXT main event at Takeover as the biggest one yet and looked at the Full Sails arena and emphasized on Brooklyn.

Despite Balor’s great screen presence and despite knowing that Owens is going to lose, Owens still imposes an intimidating presence. He wrecked the set up in the ring, punched William Regal, attacked Finn Balor and managed to run away when the champ retaliated.

The match is official.

#1 The Reign of the Demon

The Demon Overlord

When you see Finn Balor returning to NXT with the Championship, you just feel and know that he was meant to be king. Balor’s screen presence is immense. It’s so strong that it makes you forgive and forget the fact that he’s not really that great on the mic. The Full Sail arena gave him a hero’s welcome with ‘You Deserve It’ chants. This was his first entrance as a Champion in an NXT arena.

This week he was surprising good on the mic. It was high on emotions and all his real life journey told by him on a nutshell.

And he put over Kevin Owens majorly well.

This was a great start to the reign of the demon.
