WWE Raw 28th July 2014 - 5 Promising Developments

Raw started and ended with a bang .Everything that went on in between was just fine. But this was just the signs of how well Summerslam can be. Dean Ambrose was absent though, apart from that the build up to Summerslam was in full throttle. Here are the five promising developments from this night

#1 John Cena\'s Performance

The night began with John Cena making his way to the ring and he put Brock Lesnar over in a major, major way. He was faced with redoubtable ‘What’ chants in the beginning and he played up to the usual divisive nature of reactions in the arena. So Cena is again the underdog but it was good that he mentioned his victory over Lesnar in 2012. This was an apt follow up to the amazing Paul Heyman promo from last week. Cena did not try any of his toilet humor shtick and in fact he had no jokes for this new feud. He played it rather humble. And just when it seemed like he was getting pummelled by Paul Heyman, Cena made an emphatic comeback.

And then he went on to have a really good match with Cesaro.

#2 Never say Never

That entire opening segment gave Raw quite a start and what followed was a great match but before that something hapened that might be relevant soon. cesaro came to as shield to heyman from the verbal assault that Cena had imparted on Brock Lesnar’s manager. cesaro’s promo had some really good lines but cesaro wasn’t as good as heymana nd Cena were before him. But the fact of the matter is Cesaro and Heyman are still friends. And it won’t be shocking if they get back to being an alliance after Lesnar goes into exile.

#3 Rusev-Swagger continues

It is good to see Swagger coming back into teh spotlight and not getting shunned by the recent controversy that the WWE was so stupid to make. I am afan of lana’s rants towards America and everytime most of them are very well deserved. They will be having a match at Summerslam it seems and this time around there will be a decisive victory by either one of them. Till then we shall enjoy the rants of Lana and the twisted wisdom of Zeb Colter

#4 Randy Orton\'s Aggression

In the past many months Randy Orton hasnt really excelled in the self reliable department. he was far too often stuck being Triple Hs sidekick. And he is one person apart from Sheamus and kane who are constantly left with nothing creatively. But he is doing a great job with his feud with Reigns. This feud will eventually be a stepping stone for Reigns and Ortons aggression did everything to get the desired reactions from the crowd. This is good news.

#5 A One Woman Show

Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella were in the main event of Raw which involved promos and a brawl.

Bella was pretty straightforward and to the point and did what she was supposed to. But it was McMahon with all the expressions. She gave a quite a performance. She went from being humble, relieved, excited, she whimpered and then she got to her point and she stomped it on Bries face with authority. So Mcmahon returns to the ring to fight after 10 years and she means business.
