WWE SummerSlam 2014: 3 possible endings to the Roman Reigns vs Randy Orton match

As WWE heads closer to thesummers biggest party, the rise of Roman Reigns has been one of the headlining storylines. Taking advantage of the heat that the Authority has, the creative team hasmanaged to project Reigns as the fan favorite.Reigns opponent, Orton on the other hand sees the feud against Reigns as his path back into relevance after being the Authoritys puppet for a long time.It has all the dynamics to be one of the most entertaining matches at SummerSlam despite not having any extra stipulation. The ending of the match would possibly give WWE a new major star in the main event scene or could revive the career of an already established name.So here is a look at how the creative team might choose to end the bout once these two getinto the ring at SummerSlam.

#3 An Authority Screwjob

Screwjob and Authority have been synonymous for the entirety of last year. They’ve screwed Daniel Bryan, Brie Bella, to an extent John Cena and Dean Ambrose. Reigns being added to the list at SummerSlam wouldn’t be a big surprise.

As always, Orton would be heading into the match with all the backing from Hunter and his pack. At one point or the other, the odds would be stacked to the top against Reigns.

If the creative have plans to pit Reigns against Hunter, this would be an easy route to the same. Also, the company could extend the feud between Orton and Reigns all the way to Night of Champions and then have a stipulation match where both superstars can give it their all under a no rules match.

A Screwjob would put over Reigns more with the fans who see the Authority’s opposition as a face representative.

#2 Reigns gets a clean win

Ever since the year started, Reigns has been on the receiving end of a pampered push from the company. He came out looking good in almost every pay-per-view that the company had this year and they wouldn’t just waste a stage like SummerSlam.

A win over a former champion like Orton at a big spotlight event like this would set the foundation for his progression to the next stage. Reigns getting a clean win over Orton would mean that he would have overcome the first obstacle that Hunter threw at him.

This would make Reigns eligible to face Hunter in the future or demand a title shot against the champion as he would hav defeated the Authority’s supposedly number one contender for the title at all occasions.

#1 Kane costing Orton his match

One of the most important figures in WWE programing ever since the Authority went full force was Kane. He has been there along with Hunter and Stephanie for almost every evil deed they did and is someone who shouldn’t be kept out of relevance.

Kane apparently has no match for SummerSlam as things stand now, but this should not stop the creative team from letting him make an impact.

Making Kane skip the pay-per-view would simply be a suicidal move from the company as it would keep the big red monster stale. Instead of this, what they could do is to make Kane cost Orton his match.

This in turn would open up the possibility of either Kane or Orton turning face and going up against the Authority while Roman Reigns could have his much awaited feud with Triple H at Night of Champions, a pay-per-view that is so crucial for the WWE Network.
