WWE Top 5 Rumors of the week and Analysis: 14 December, 2014

CM Punk’s pipe bombs were not there to break the internet this week but there was a certain NXT Revolution which made professional wrestling trend all over the world.Triple H would be taking credit for that success story and it will be yet another blow for Vince McMahon’s whose main roster product actually sucks. There were a lot of uprising within the WWE Universe calling for Hunter to take over from Vince but on the other side, there were some rumors which caused an equal amount of buzz. From Undertaker’s WrestleMania opponent to AJ Lee’s retirement, there were some interesting speculations that came out this week and here is a look at the best ones from the lot.

#5 The Rock will miss WrestleMania 31

Names like Rusev and Triple H has been linked with The Rock for WrestleMania 31. Though both possibilities sound like great ideas, the WWE Universe will probably be heart broken in the end.

This is because of the latest rumors surfacing which said that the Brahma Bull will miss WrestleMania completely. He apparently has some scheduling conflicts and working WrestleMania is not clearly the highest priority.

Rock’s absence would be a big blow for Vince McMahon as it would’ve been a big draw even if CM Punk doesn’t support this argument. On the other hand, the company could still push to get Rock in for other shows like Royal Rumble or SummerSlam and make the match with Rusev or Hunter work.

#4 Superstar of the year Slammy award was legitimate

The whole WWE Universe was stunned when Roman Reigns won the Superstar of the year Slammy Award beating the lights of John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan and Dean Ambrose.

Being out injured for a long time, many didn’t expect Reigns to be even in the race but in the end it was him who took the Slammy home. There were many accusations of the voting being rigged by WWE for pushing Reigns to the sky before his big return.

However, that doesn’t look to be the case. The voting process in the Slammy Awards was apparently legitimate and Reigns did get more votes than anyone else on the list. True or not, Reigns has the Slammy and that’s the bottom line.

#3 Triple H angry over Vince McMahons decision to bury Charlotte

The NXT Women’s champion Charlotte made her main roster debut last week on Raw but ended up losing to Natalya in just two minutes. It was a contradictory result to whatever Charlotte did in NXT and Triple H is apparently not happy about how she was booked.

NXT product as a whole is Hunter’s personal project and seeing one of the most crucial names of NXT programming getting buried like that certainly left him disappointed.

The decision to let Charlotte was made by Vince McMahon and even Natalya thought that it was a bad idea. A handful of situations like this could lead to an all-out war between Vince McMahon and Triple H over the control of WWE and all the fans will be firmly behind Hunter as well.

#2 AJ to retire after TLC

AJ Lee walking out from the WWE has been relevant ever since her husband walked out. She was expected to retire after Survivor Series and the 30 second match with Nikki Bella suggested the same.

That didn’t happen however and AJ will be facing Nikki for the championship at TLC. The speculation out there suggests that it would be her last match in WWE. AJ’s Slammy Award speech fueled the speculation.

Further, AJ said that “you guys are going to miss me when I’m gone” on commentary while Jerry Lawler tried desperately to cover up. It might end up like another wild rumor but with Punk joining UFC, this might come true.

#1 Undertaker to wrestle Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania

Undertaker’s face appearing in the WrestleMania promotion materials started a whirl wind of rumors about the Phenom making an appearance on the show. None of the WWE sources gave thumbs up to the news but still this didn’t stop the internet from buzzing.

And after his appearance was sorted out, the next question obviously came about Undertaker’s opponent. Instead of Brock Lesnar or Sting, the name that came up was Bray Wyatt.

It might not sound like a big deal initially, but a match between Bray and Taker could actually steal the show. Bray would be a much better opponent than an old battered Sting while telling a more interesting story of a monster wanting to take over the dead man.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
