5 Possible reasons to suspend Brock Lesnar after SummerSlam

If you’re reading this, Mr. Lesnar...we are very sorry. Don’t hurt us.

Brock Lesnar may just be the greatest combat athlete of all time. Not only is he a former WWE Champion, but is also a former UFC Champion and a former NCAA Champion. Promoters bend over backwards to have him on their show because Brock Lesnar brings the big bucks. He’s a freak of nature, he’s genetically gifted and he’s one of the last genuinely scary professional wrestlers left in the world.

But his actions at Summerslam are a cause for concern. Even if the entire episode with Randy Orton is a work, the whole lead up to the match and the match itself raise some serious questions about The Beast Incarnate. Different rules apply to him, than the rest of the roster.

While others are heavily penalized, Brock seems to get away with everything. We can raise at least 5 genuine grounds for suspension, for Lesnar.

  1. The failed drug test

I ended the streak...of wellness policy suspensions

The WWE Wellness Policy has been a major cause of controversy in recent times. Top superstars such as Roman Reigns, Alberto Del Rio, Paige and Eva Marie have been suspended for minor violations. But even though Lesnar failed multiple drug tests following his UFC 200 bout, no action was taken against him.

This is because Brock Lesnar is a part-time performer, and the Wellness Policy does not apply to him. He works a lighter schedule than the rest of the guys and is exempt from most of the restrictions they face. This fact alone makes him worthy of a suspension.

We know Lesnar is in a league of his own, as compared to the rest of the WWE roster and we know that the world is an unfair place, but in the interest of fairness to its superstars, WWE should consider taking action against him. Or what kind of example is the company setting for its full-time roster?

  1. Unsafe work

New species of snake spotted...that’s the Bleeding Viper

We understand that the beat down on Randy Orton was supposed to be a work. But there is at least one legitimate elbow in there, that just busted Randy Orton open. Hey, this is a high-intensity sport, and accidents can happen. But then again, Brock Lesnar isn’t like other normal human beings and one mistake from him can cause serious damage.

Other talents may have been taken to task after such an incident, but of course, Brock Lesnar is exempt from this process. We believe that he becomes a liability to the company in such a case and it is reason enough for a suspension.

Speaking of being a liability to the company, we come to point number 3.

  1. Going off the script

Pray for Heath’s kids, guys. 1 share = 1 prayer.

We’ve cringed on a weekly basis at WWE stars who are made to memorize entire pages of scripted promos, and made to replicate them in front of the camera. This is the PG Era, and every word is uttered with utmost caution. But even in such an era, Brock Lesnar is notorious for going off the script, and dropping S-bombs with reckless abandon.

We all remember his highly poetic declaration at Wrestlemania 31 – ‘Suplex City B***h’. Yet again, different rules apply to The Beast than the rest of the roster. As a full-time talent, there’s nothing more discouraging than this. We know for certain that other talents can be fired for this, but Brock is too valuable to the company.

  1. Letting Randy Orton bleed on screen

Stuck between a Brock, and a hard place

We know what WWE feels about blood these days. Remember the Takeover confrontation between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor in which Joe had to be wiped clean at several points during the match, even though it ruined the flow of the contest?

Not only did Lesnar not stop when Orton was busted open at Summerslam, he continued to ground and pound, as medical personnel came to wipe Orton clean. Some twitches from the Beast and they all went scurrying away. Yet again, a strict no-no for anyone else on the roster.

  1. Backstage confrontation with Chris Jericho

Brock’s not a fan of The Gift of Jericho

Chris Jericho is the current locker room leader and was naturally concerned about Randy Orton’s health after the Summerslam main event. After the match, he got into a backstage altercation with Lesnar over the match. Apparently, Brock called Chris Jericho a p***y, and an angry Y2J touched foreheads with the beast for a furious confrontation.

At which point, Brock asked him to either hit him or kiss him. Thankfully this fight was broken up by Triple H, who took Jericho’s side in this episode. Butting heads with the locker room leader would spell trouble for anyone. But then again, Brock is Brock.
