– Wade Barrett, the King of the Ring recently lost to Neville during the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Barrett who has been tagging with Sheamus recently is also set to appear in a movie.
Barrett received a huge pop in the UK during his WWE Tour and is one of the greatest exports from the UK to the WWE. The Five-time intercontinental champion spoke with The Independent while promoting the WWE’s tour of UK. Barrett spoke about wrestling, movies, and his heel persona. On choosing wrestling or movies
Wade Barrett has appeared in a few movies in a negative role. Barrett who stands at 6 foot 7 inches has been cast in such intimidating roles. When asked about what he prefers Barrett said he is fully committed to wrestling.
Barrett recently changed his twitter handle to his real name which made the fans believe he could quit wrestling. Barrett said that he has a long way to go in this industry but added that he has to think about his life after wrestling. He says he has done some work recently in movies and would like to explore that area.
"I’m still as passionate about wrestling as I ever was, but I think it’s inevitable that at some point in your career you’ve got to start looking for things outside of wrestling.Certainly in terms of acting and doing things outside of wrestling, that’s something I’ll be looking to do more of in the not-too-distant future."
On being a heel
King Barret has perpetually been a heel in the WWE. Since debuting as the leader of the Nexus, Barrett has portrayed a heel. Barrett said that he thinks that is what he does best. He said that during the Bad News stint, he should have had a face turn, but the company did not want that. He added that he has never been a fan favorite and is universally hated, but he would love to play a babyface in the future.
"For the most part, I excel as being the bad guy, and that’s definitely a strong point for me. That decision was made at the time, but I feel that at the moment it’s not the right time for me to be a fan favorite because I’m universally hated. Maybe one day it will change, but I’m currently quite happy being the bad guy."
