WWE Rumours: Brock Lesnar calls out Goldberg on WWE 2k17 promo video before it is taken down

A rematch around the corner?

Bill Goldberg is undoubtedly one of the most popular figures in this pro-wrestling industry. Although his last wrestling match dates back to 2004, the hype around him hasn’t decreased one bit. In fact, it got extended to a new level when the former World Champion was announced as a playable character as a pre-order bonus for the upcoming video game, WWE 2K17.

WWE has witnessed the unexpected return of the Ultimate Warrior and the much-awaited debut of WCW legend, Sting, soon after they were confirmed as a part of the 2K games. This has led to speculation that Goldberg will be again seen inside the squared circle.

In his last match for WWE, Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 20, with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee for the match.

Unfortunately, the match turned out to be one of the worst WrestleMania interactions of all time. Since then, many fans wanted to see a better version of Lesnar vs Goldberg inside a WWE ring.

This weekend, Goldberg has been booked for appearances in New York City to promote the WWE 2K17. It has been reported that Vince McMahon is not behind his booking and 2K company separately contacted the wrestling legend.

New York also hosts WWE SummerSlam, which features Brock Lesnar in a main event match with Randy Orton. As a result, the fans feel that there is a chance of interaction between Goldberg and Lesnar in the biggest event of the Summer.

Interestingly, WWE 2K17 uploaded a video few hours ago, involving Brock Lesnar and his manager, Paul Heyman. In that video, Heyman mocks Goldberg for being a pre-order exclusive "supporting character" of a game, which features Lesnar on the cover.

At the end of the video, the Beast Incarnate challenges Goldberg using his own catchphrase :

Heyman: Ladies and gentleman, my name is Paul Heyman and I think everyone [clapping] should stand up and applaud Bill Goldberg for being a supporting player in the video game that stars the Beast, the Conquerer... Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar: Hey Bill. You're next!

Surprisingly, the video was deleted in a short span of time.

Is this an indication towards WWE not wanting their fans to get excited about an upcoming Lesnar vs Goldberg face-off? Or it is just another way to promote the upcoming WWE 2K17 game?

Although Goldberg is rumored to leave New York before SummerSlam takes place, anything is possible in the WWE, isn’t it?
