WWE News: Chyna's brain to be donated for CTE research

Following the tragic passing of former WWE Diva Chyna, it has been confirmed that her brain would be donated for Central Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) research. The news was broke out by Chyna’s manager Anthony Anzaldo to the New York Daily News.

He said, "We want to donate her brain. We want to know what made Chyna tick”. When asked about a possible lawsuit Anzaldo said, "We're not interested in the lawsuit at all. We're just looking for (the researchers) to give us everything they can get." He also hopes to capture the results of testing for The Reconstruction of Chyna, the documentary they had been filming before her death.

Previously, many WWE superstars including Kevin Nash, Mick Foley and Rob Van Dam had agreed to donate their brains for this research. John Cena recently mentioned in an interview that he would be open to donating his brain to research because he's donated his body for other things. Cena said if he could do things to help people after he exists, he would be open to it. This is a huge contribution since concussion and CTE effects differ massively between men and women.

CTE is a degenerative brain disease that has been linked to repeated head trauma. Research on CTE is reaching new heights in this decade to ensure the well being of athletes. The movie “Concussion” released in 2013 bought mainstream attention to this crippling disease.
