Former Wrestler Jesse Ventura talks Hogan, Vince and more

Controversy King Jesse Ventura

– Jesse Ventura was a wrestler and a commentator with the WWE in the early 1970s to 1990s. Ventura has faced a lot of court proceedings and controversies in his career.

Ventura spoke with Graham Bensinger from In Depth and spoke about fiery personalities such as Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. He spoke about his relationship with these two personalities and also other controversies which surrounded him.

On his relationship with Vince McMahon

Ventura stated that he does not hold a grudge against Vince McMahon and said that he respects him as a businessman. Ventura who sued Vince McMahon for fraud has been getting royalties and a quarterly retirement fund from the WWE.

He accepted that Vince was a ruthless businessman but said that he did not back away from him and took him to the Federal Court after the whole royalty incident.

"I bare no grudge against Vince. No. I just, when I disagreed with him I did the proper thing – I took him to federal court and beat him and I have a retirement now.

On his relationship with Hulk Hogan

Jesse Ventura was the crusader to form a labour union in the WWE. He said that he was close friends with Hulk Hogan but was shocked to find out that Hogan ratted him to Vince McMahon about the whole labour union issue.

He added that he will never trust Hulk Hogan and does not consider him as a friend. He also revealed that Hogan was getting paid more than the other wrestlers during Wrestlemania III season.

"I can’t trust him. I’m never friends with anyone I don’t trust. I have to have trust with someone to be their friend. And he’s the one that ratted me out to Vince [McMahon] when I tried to unionize."

On his lawsuit against Chris Kyle

Ventura spoke about Chris Kyle and said that he is a man without any honour. He said that whatever Kyle wrote in his book was an absolute lie and that he sold Ventura for the money.

Kyle had written in his book ‘the American Sniper’ about punching Ventura in a bar fight and knocking him out which did not go very well with Ventura. Ventura said that is why he filed a defamation suit against Chris Kyle.

"He took an old-timer like me and threw me under the bus so he could get money. You know why he’s not a hero? Because heroes have to have honor. A liar has no honor.”
