WWE News: The Rock teases an appearance at Wrestlemania 33

The Rock has managed to make appearances in the past 6 editions of WrestleMania

Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson was in Los Angeles over the past weekend promoting his upcoming Disney animated film Moana where he lends his voice to the demigod Maui. He was being interviewed by WSVN-TV entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet when the People’s Champion dropped a bombshell.

Here is a snippet of the conversation that took place between the Rock and Van Vliet:

Van Vliet: “So we'll see you in April? Orlando?”

Rock: “What's in Orlando?”

Van Vliet: “A little thing called WrestleMania.”

Rock: “Sure, ya I'll see you there.”

If the Rock does indeed make an appearance at WrestleMania 33, it would be the seventh year in a row when the People’s Champ has made time from his busy schedule to accommodate a WrestleMania appearance.

Although the conversation was light-hearted and there may not be any concrete proof to go about the statements made just yet, The Rock might very well drop by at Orlando and steal the show, come April.

The Rock has had a lot on his plate over the past couple of years which is a prime reason for him not competing inside the squared circle. It is clear that Vince wanted a program between the Rock and Lesnar at WrestleMania 32 but the Rock’s Hollywood contracts prevented that from happening.

The Rock also spoke about the challenges of voicing an animated character revealing that it took a great deal of effort to be able to do justice to his character.

The Brahma Bull also revealed the reason behind him leaving the WWE and pursuing a career in Hollywood. He stated that his goal was to keep challenging himself at every level. Rock pointed out that he met with a lot of cynicism initially when he set out to achieve his goal in Hollywood.

He said that he missed the atmosphere of being in the presence of a live WWE crowd. He confessed that acting clearly wasn’t his forte back in the day and he had his fair share of setbacks. He concluded by saying:

“You gotta fight through that and you gotta listen to the voice inside and then you gotta bring it."
