WWE is certainly pulling no punches when it comes to handling controversial behavior within the company at this time. After an accusation was leveled against a veteran recently, it's now been revealed that the star may not be returning to TV anytime soon, if at all.
Earlier this month, Ronda Rousey alleged that while she was backstage at a WWE event in 2022, Drew Gulak grabbed the drawstring of her sweatpants when he was walking past her. Since then, Gulak has replied, saying that he had touched the drawstring accidentally when trying to shake Rousey's hand.
Since then, Gulak has not appeared on WWE TV. On the April 9 episode of WWE NXT, he didn't make an appearance at all. Now, on this week's show, Tony D'Angelo told members of Gulak's faction that he had 'taken care of' one of them but had not been paid for it. Charlie Dempsey replied, indicating he had sanctioned the hit, meaning that Gulak was officially written off completely.
“Who said anything about payment? I thought you were doing this for the good of the business. There was trash, and it needed to be taken care of. And that’s what you did - you happened to do the industry a bit of good while you were at it.”
A Fightful Select report on Gulak has now emerged. Apparently, after being written off TV, Gulak is not expected to return anytime soon. As per the report, he might not return to TV at all.
Triple H and Shawn Michaels are usually the ones behind the creative decisions. It's not certain if they were the ones responsible for this as well, but given their position, they possibly were at least involved with the investigation.
WWE has launched an investigation into Drew Gulak
As reported earlier, an investigation has also been launched into Drew Gulak by WWE.
Bryan Alvarez reported that the company investigated the claims made by Rousey. There were several people at the scene and they were all interviewed about what happened between Rousey and Gulak that night.
At this time, there has been no disclosure about the results.
The fact that he was written off TV completely, however, may not be a good sign for him.
