The match between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at the Survivor Series ended up being the most one-sided encounters that one would have ever witnessed. Returning to in-ring action after a span of 12 years, it took ‘The Myth’ less than 2 minutes to decimate ‘The Beast Incarnate’, leaving the entire WWE Universe in a state of shock.
However, this may not be the end of the road for the rivalry between Goldberg and Lesnar.
On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer claimed that Goldberg had been paid a large sum of money to wrestle at the Survivor Series and is ready to stick around for as long as Vince McMahon wants, provided that he is paid a similar amount.
Therefore, there is a huge possibility that the legendary WCW superstar will be seen in action at Wrestlemania 33. Taking this into account, it is being speculated that we may see one final match between him and Brock Lesnar at the grandest event on the WWE calendar to settle scores once and for all.
On this week’s episode of Raw, Goldberg made an announcement that he would be participating in the 30-man Royal Rumble match at the titular pay-per-view early next year. In all likelihood, Lesnar may interfere and cost Goldberg the opportunity to win the match and earn himself a title shot thereby triggering a final showdown at Wrestlemania.
A similar storyline had set up their Wrestlemania 20 encounter back in 2004 when ‘The Conqueror’ attacked Goldberg during the Royal Rumble match and got him eliminated. The latter returned the favour by costing Lesnar his WWE title at the No Way Out pay-per-view that followed, leading to the first-ever match between the two.
