Last week, Mick Foley announced on Facebook that Sasha Banks vs Charlotte’s Hell In A Cell match was going to be the main event of the Pay-Per-View. However, less than 24 hours later, he retracted the statement saying that it wasn’t going to be the main event but for him, it was the main event.
This was naturally met with quite some criticism as the initial announcement generated a lot of excitement over the history that would be made. WWE are now advertising Hell In A Cell as having a “Triple Main Event”, referring to the three Hell In A Cell matches that will take place.

Bryan Alvarez, of the Wrestling Observer Radio, stated what might happen with regards to the Women’s match placement on the card.
"There are people high up in the company that do not want it to go on last. Obviously there are people who do want it to go on last. This is taking place in Boston, and it is Sasha's hometown. And the feeling is, it's either got to go on first, or got to go on last.
Because there is a feeling of risk that if you put it late in the show, that people will watch the match and go home"
He further proceeded to state:
“There is a feeling that if you put it on first, nobody is going to leave because then you're going to virtually miss all of the show.”
He spoke about the fact that one of the fears discussed is that if the match doesn’t go on last then the crowd will hijack the show.
He said that since the crowd will have a good deal of “smart” fans who would have seen Foley’s Facebook post, and with the news spreading all over twitter and other social media, there will be high awareness of the idea of the women main eventing.
He also went on to add that he was unsure how many of those people saw Foley’s post retracting the statement made. That is perhaps why they decided to use the term ‘Triple Main Event’ so that they can call Sasha Banks vs Charlotte the main event without having to put it on last.
Alvarez said that he personally believes the women should go on last. It’s interesting because there is speculation that Foley either let the cat out of the bag early or he really messed up.
