On the latest edition of Jim Ross’ The Ross Report podcast show, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels appeared as a guest and talked about how he had a return offer from the WWE but turned it down. Michaels also talked about the possibility of wrestling a match at Wrestlemania 32 in Texas next year. Here are some of the highlights from that interview including Jim Ross’ take on the subject and whether Shawn will wrestle a match again or not:
Michaels on if WWE will try to get some Texans such as him and Steve Austin for WrestleMania 32 since it’s in Dallas, Texas:
“I’ve already had an offer. I’ve enjoyed being retired.”
Michaels on turning down an offer to be a part of the WWE creative team:
“It wouldn’t be a great fit for me. There’d be a lot of stifling going on. I’ve been able to sway them on things other people couldn’t. I’d be open to the Pat Patterson gig, where you have a couple of projects and you could write in from home about it. If you’re going to be there every week, you might as well go back and be an on-air character and make more money.”
Jim Ross on Michaels ever returning to the ring:
"It's the annual 'HBK to return for one more match' rumor that generally pops up concerning WrestleMania. I don't feel that there is anything to it. Shawn has been adamant that he's done as a wrestler and I believe him. He's got nothing left to prove and is staying busy with his Outdoor Network show among other projects."
