There are several people in the WWE that feel that after the success of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, it likely means that the chances of Batista's return to the WWE as a full-time performer are very slim.
When Batista left a few months ago, there was a belief that he would be back to continue his storyline once the media appearances for Guardians was over, but some are under the impression that it may not happen. Batista’s future with the company was a hot topic backstage at this weekend’s WWE live event.
There is also the risk of Batista getting injured now as his film career has taken off and might be affected. After the success of the movie, it's almost guaranteed that he will get a lot of movie offers & with him performing in a wrestling ring, it might not be good for his movie career as studios will be hesitant to cast him in movies.
