Update on the Wrestlemania XXX concessions problems and missing money

Wrestlemania XXX concession problems and missing money

A few weeks ago, WWE’s VP of Venue Merchandising & Operations, Alan Rebhun was allowed to leave after Wrestlemania XXX due to a lot of concession issues at the event weekend. Also reported was that a large sum of money went missing after the event.

Latest reports indicate that some more problems occured while Rebhun was with the WWE. Rebhun had hired Alan Fey’s Gameday, who also caused the bankruptcy of a company called XP events in 2010. Although the deal had been signed by people higher than Rebhun, he made sure he kept the Fey connection beforehand.

Soon the WWE Legal team looked for the concessions contract and found out that Rebhun had written & signed a contract with Fey without WWE’s knowledge or without the contract being written by WWE legal, which is against company protocol.

Gameday had licenses for several NBA, MLB and NFL teams, most of which were carryovers from XP events, and they were told, “if you want to get the money owed to you from our bankruptcy, you’ll need to sign Gameday.”

There were also claims of a deposit being $5000 short, which happened due to Rebhun failing to collect the money on time and then sending an accounting offical to do the same. When Fey gave the accounting employee the money, the accountant gave Fey a receipt for said amount of cash. However, when the money was officially counted it was $5,000 less than what Fey said was there. Because Fey had a receipt for what was “supposed” to be there, he claimed he knew nothing about being short $5,000.

Rebhun had also hired an organization which was a branch of Countrywide, who took photos of fans in front of green screens and made it appear that they were posing with a WWE Superstar. They were 6 months late in their payment to the WWE, which was about $85,000 ((owed before Wrestlemania XXX), and in their contract had it written by Rebhun that they should pay the money in a timely manner. When asked by the legal team of the WWE, Countrywide said 6 months late on payment was a timely manner to them.

When they ran credit checks on them, the WWE legal team found out that Countrywide did not fit into the levels of acceptance set by WWE.
