WWE Live event results Aberdeen- November 7, 2016

It was Smackdown’s time to lay the heat.

WWE’s European tour continued at Aberdeen, Scotland. The Smackdown Live! exclusive show was headlined by the WWE Championship match, between “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles and “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose. The show was a full-house. Below is the snap of the crowd before the start of the event:

Here are the results:

Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz (w/ Maryse) for the Intercontinental Championship

A title match opened the show with the crowd crazy for Ziggler. It seemed that Ziggler’s reign was over when Maryse tried to interfere. However, Ziggler managed to overcome the obstacle and cemented his run as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, following a Superkick, which was enough to keep Miz down for a 3 count.

Result: Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz via pinfall to retain the Intercontinental Championship

Jack Swagger vs. Curt Hawkins

Curt Hawkins’ dismal run since his return continued, after being defeated by Jack Swagger in just under a minute. The loss may seem surprising, considering how much WWE tried to hype his return. Despite being a former World Champion, Jack Swagger, is not getting much time on Live TV these days.

Result : Jack Swagger defeated Curt Hawkins

Rhyno and Heath Slater vs. The Usos vs. Tyler Breeze and Fandango

Rhyno and Heath Slater have had a great run with the title so far, with the chemistry between these two being the secret of success of this team. They managed to retain their gold after a gore to Jey Uso, was enough to keep him down for the pinfall victory.

The tag from Heath Slater to bring on Rhyno generated one of the biggest pops of the night. This match featured Breezango and they have been receiving repeated title shots at Live Events, which may be a sign of a push, and as far as The Usos are concerned, their heel turn and the change in the attire have been refreshing to watch.

Result: Rhyno and Heath Slater defeated The Usos and Breezango to retain the Smackdown Tag Team Titles.

Nikki Bella and Naomi vs. Carmella and Natalya

The entrance for Nikki Bella got a huge pop to start off things and the Faces managed to pick up the victory over the heels, after a Rack Attack by Nikki Bella to Carmella finished things off. Carmella has been good with her heel work and managed to look strong despite being on the losing side. Natalya and Naomi were also given time to shine too.

Baron Corbin vs. Kalisto

”The Lone Wolf” Baron Corbin, squared off against Kalisto next. The clash began with the contest of Corbin’s size against Kalisto’s speed. Ultimately, it was size that triumphed after Corbin hit the End Of Days, out of nowhere for the pinfall victory.

Kalisto and Baron Corbin have lost their momentum after their feuds with Rusev and Dolph Ziggler, respectively ended.

Result : Baron Corbin defeated Kalisto via. pinfall

American Alpha ( Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) and Kane vs. Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Randy Orton

Randy Orton’s allegiance to the dark side continued, in this battle, which saw the faces taking most of the control. The end saw a flurry of finishers with Randy Orton hitting the RKO on Jordan and Gable being hit by a Sister Abigail by Wyatt.

However, amidst this, Kane managed to drive these men out of the way and hit the Chokeslam on Harper, for the eventual victory.

Result: American Alpha ( Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) and Kane win by pinfall.

The Hype Bros vs. The Ascension

The match basically was just a time filler, with the Hype Bros picking up the victory. Mojo Rawley as always showed a lot of energy and managed to finish off the contest in no time.

Result: The Hype Bros defeated The Ascension via pinfall.

Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss

The crowd, as expected, were behind Lynch from the word go. The match was a thrilling back and forth encounter, with Lynch managing to pick up the victory after Bliss tapped out to the Dis-arm-her.

The action will continue as these two are all set to collide again on Smackdown Live! scheduled to take place in Glasgow. Bliss has been brilliant as the heel and is the perfect opposite of Lynch’s fiery face spirit.

Result: Becky Lynch defeated Alexa Bliss via Submission to retain the Smackdown Women’s Title.

AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose

Finally, after a particularly long card, it was time for the main event.

Both the competitors came out to huge pops, as the crowd was eagerly waiting for this clash. The match, much as their previous clashes, was quite brilliant and these two have developed a great chemistry, after working with each other several times.

AJ Styles managed to pick up the victory to retain his championship, but ultimately it was Ambrose who had the last laugh, after he sneaked in, to deliver the Dirty Deeds to stand tall and put an end to the proceedings.

Result: AJ Styles defeated Dean Ambrose to retain the WWE Championship.
