What's the story?

Braun Strowman recently received much flak from Twitter for putting up a picture after going deer hunting. Strowman would then block comments on his post from fans who wanted to take a dig at him.

The original post may be viewed at this location. One wonders if this will have an impact on the push he has been getting.

In case you didn't know...

Braun Strowman has been a top guy on RAW ever since the most recent brand split. One can't help but believe that we're slowly inching towards his coronation as Universal Champion.

He is scheduled to take on Brock Lesnar for the Championship at the Royal Rumble. This past week on RAW a confrontation was teased between the Beast and the Monster, but Brock Lesnar did not engage Braun Strowman. This time it was a beast of a different nature that got Strowman in trouble.

The heart of the matter

Even though deer hunting is not illegal in many parts of the USA, animal lovers and animal activists on Twitter are generally not known to be fans of it. The moment Strowman put up the post, he received tremendous backlash from Twitter users:

Of course, some of the messages directed at him contained language that cannot be repeated on this PG website. As a result of the same, Strowman decided to turn off the comments option on his original post. As in most cases, a lot of Twitter users also showed solidarity towards Braun Strowman and his love for hunting game.

What's next?

Braun Strowman goes up against the Universal Champion at the Royal Rumble. One hopes he is fully recovered from his injury by then and is able to put on a really good showing. As with this incident, I will not take a moral stand on it, but purely from a PR perspective maybe it's not always a good idea to put up a hunting picture.
