Goldberg appeared on ESPN’s Sports Center this past Wednesday to discuss his WWE future and promote the new WWE 2K17 video game which he is featured in.
This prompted Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, to appear on this past Monday’s RAW to challenge Goldberg. It was later revealed that Goldberg will be appearing live on Monday’s RAW to respond to Lesnar’s challenge, sparking rumours that the two will once again meet inside the WWE ring for a match.
While Goldberg is expected to appear on Monday Night RAW, the same can not be said for the former NCAA Division I wrestler and UFC heavyweight champion Lesnar. Lesnar is not expected to make an appearance at this week’s RAW, but instead the following week at Monday Night RAW in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 24th.
WWE have no plans, according to NoDQ, to have the two wrestlers meet or let the Beast make an appearance next week. The organisation is reportedly keen on keeping the two apart until the fight draws nearer which justifies the delay.
Goldberg has been out of the professional wrestling game for quite some time now and isn’t quite as large as he once was during his heyday in WCW when he went on his string of being undefeated.
While Goldberg was retired from the ring, Lesnar remained very much active as he had a brief tenure in the National Football League (NFL) for his hometown Minnesota Vikings, reigned as the UFC’s mixed martial arts (MMA) heavyweight champion for a brief period of time, and returned to the WWE to dominate today’s roster and win the WWE title as well.
Lesnar has a slew of accomplishments under his belt since returning to WWE, including main eventing Wrestlemania with Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (in which Seth Rollins would cash in his Money In The Bank to win the title), and ending The Undertaker’s legendary undefeated streak at Wrestlemania.
