WWE News: Goldberg to talk about his WWE return this Wednesday

Goldberg could face Brock Lesnar upon his return

Former WWE superstar Bill Goldberg has been confirmed to be making an appearance on ESPN Sportcenter’s “Off the top rope” segment hosted by former WWE commentator and interviewer, Jonathan Coachman. Tweets by Coachman and Goldberg himself on their official Twitter accounts have confirmed this:

It was stated by Michael Cole on Monday Night Raw that the interview would be surrounding Goldberg’s status in the WWE. The official confirmation being on WWE’s flagship show makes things far more interesting than an otherwise sporadic PR appearance would have been. This appears to definitely be a hint at something major.

Goldberg’s first and only run with the WWE had left the fans desiring more. Be it a lack of good booking or simply a question of him being at the right place at the wrong time, the run just didn’t live up to its hype. WWE was coming off the heels of a very successful Attitude era and Goldberg didn’t appear to fit with the new direction that the company was trying to take at the time.

At 49 years of age now, however, Goldberg is still in fighting shape and a return isn’t out of question as far as his physical readiness is concerned. With him having recently rekindled ties with his former employers, Rumours of Goldberg returning began when he made an appearance at Gamescom in August and when the crowd chanted “Please come back”, Goldberg got on the mic and stated that “For you guys, I’ll see what I can do.”

The statement strongly hinted at an imminent return. Here’s a video of the same:
