WWE News: Johnny Gargano officially done with the independent circuit

Johnny Wrestling is officially a WWE superstar

As of yesterday, Johnny Gargano officially finished up with his final independent date, which means that Johnny Wrestling is officially a full-time WWE superstar. Yesterday he wrestled at AIW(Absolute Intense Wrestling). He had his final match against his wife Candice LeRae. Gargano got married to LeRae just a week back.

It is very likely that Gargano will appear on Raw this coming Monday. This past Monday Night, Only four of the Cruiserweights were introduced – Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Gran Metalik and Brian Kendrick. The four faced off in a Fatal-Four-Way match to determine who will be the number one contender to face TJ Perkins, The Cruiserweight Champion, at Clash Of Champions. Brian Kendrick was successful.

Gargano along with his tag team partner at NXT Tomasso Ciampa will be appearing on Raw. However, it appears that both will be appearing down at NXT as well. they are currently embroiled in an intense feud with NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival, and it looks like they will continue the program for at least another NXT Takeover special.

Also, they were both not present in the last set of NXT tapings, where the Second Annual Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic began. The reason for their absence was Gargano’s wedding. However, it is highly likely that they will participate in the first round in the next set of tapings or so.

WWE documented Gargano’s final appearance for EVOLVE last week. It was a very well documented piece that followed Gargano on his final days before saying goodbye to the place which made him a star and put him on WWE’s radar.

He stuffed in as many shirts of his as he could in his suitcase. He said that while one can make money from wrestling, they can make even more from merchandise(atleast as an independent wrestler). He had a lot of people queing up to see him, buy his merchandise and to get autographs and pictures.

In the article by WWE.com, even the likes of Cody Rhodes, Chris Hero and Drew McIntyre were mentioned, which was surprising to many who read it. Dustin as well appeared. In his final evolve match, he teamed up with Cody Rhodes to face Drew Galloway and Chris Hero. The night ended in “Johnny Wrestling” chants.

Tomasso Ciampa and Jack Gallagher will also be doing their final independent dates this Sunday at PROGRESS. Both will join Raw’s Cruiserweight Division.
