WWE News: Ryback reveals the deal he turned down from WWE, Vince McMahon's broken promises

Ryback recently left the WWE

Former WWE Superstar Ryback (real name Ryan Reeves) has officially released the first episode of his new podcast Conversations With The Big Guy, and he had quite a bit to say about his time with the WWE before walking away from the company very recently.

Ryback had originally announced his departure from the WWE via a hilarious post on Instagram in which he stated:

"The Big Guy Ryback would like to wish the WWE the best in their future endeavours. From this point forward, myself and the WWE will no longer be conducting business together. I would like to personally say thank you to all the WWE performers whom I've had the pleasure of being in the ring with.

The former Intercontinental Champion revealed that the reason he left the company was not a financial issue, as he stated he was offered a three-year $1.5 million contract, but rather due to the fact that multiple promises made to him from ‘The Chairman of the Board’ Vince McMahon were broken or never carried out:

“Not about a money issue, just so everybody knows, I walked away from the WWE, the contract offer that I walked away from was a three-year $1.5 million contract.”

‘The Big Guy’ then went into detail on Vince McMahon promising to make him the company’s top heel and even have a run with the WWE title while also being promised the opportunity to face former TNA star AJ Styles in his inaugural Wrestlemania match at ‘squash that little twerp’. Styles would instead be taken into a feud with Chris Jericho and would ultimately lose the match, as Ryback would not even feature on the card.

Ryback has also revealed that he has a plethora of indie dates scheduled until the end of the year, and he is doing just fine without the services of the WWE. He went on to add that while the WWE allowed it’s other stars to take promotional opportunities such as magazine covers, he was blocked off from doing so.

He then stated that he does not feel that he is burning any bridges by revealing any of this details, but he is simply just telling the truth. Ryback noted that despite all the turmoil that led to his departure from the company, he is thankful for his time with the company.
