WWE News: Syfy to broadcast RAW on Friday nights

RAW is set to be broadcast of Friday

In a move that’s sure to please many folks with packed weekday schedules, WWE’s Monday Night RAW is all set to air on the SyFy channel every Friday night – reports cagesideseats.com.

SyFy, which is owned by NBC Universal, will air RAW in a two hour format in the former time slot of SmackDown, which now airs on Thursdays on USA Network – also a NBC Universal owned channel.

The permanency of WWE’s decision to air RAW on the SyFy channel is still unknown, but there’s a high chance of the company choosing to strategically air RAW in a Friday, which could be a move to draw in more viewers as it is a tried and tested method.

The move to SyFy makes sense as fans can now catch WWE’s flagship program in a relaxed state of mind, as compared to Monday, which could be hectic for some viewers as it’s the start of the week. Viewership ratings will play a deciding factor in the long term.

However, the move may have an impact on WWE’s decision to schedule RAW for three hours on Monday nights. Only time will tell if this decision proves to be fruitful or otherwise.
