WWE News: The Rock offers advice to Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode made a historic debut with fans singing “Glorious”

Bobby Roode has made quite an impact on the NXT roster with his recent debut on NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II. Descending from the heights, in an entrance worthy of a top star, Bobby took to the ring.

The 15,000 strong crowd sang along to his theme song, “Glorious”. This will probably go down as one of the best entrances in NXT history. That, however, wasn’t the end of it. The entrance was succeeded by an even better match. The Barclays Center wanted no part of Andrade Cien Almas, who has struggled to connect with the NXT audience since his debut earlier this summer. Roode pinned Andrade and started his NXT career with an emphatic win.

However, it wasn’t always a bed of roses for Bobby Roode. His instant success in the WWE has been attributed to his great theme song by the WWE music team, but one need to acknowledge that a lot of hard work has gone into Roode even being in the right spot for his “Glorious” NXT launch. He tweeted out an image showing the journey of a young Robert Roode, once an extra on WWE television, to now, shows just how far he’s come over the course of 15 years.

This tweet caught the attention of one of the most prominent names in the industry, The Rock. He appreciated Roode’s dedication and hardwork. He retweeted the message with some encouraging words that Bobby should be proud of.

The former TNA World champ acknowledged the gesture and showed his gratitude to the Hollywood titan. He tweeted out a response to the Rock where the two bonded over a shared love of breakfast carbs:

Earlier Roode had pleasantly surprised everyone watching when he hit Andrade with the Glorious Bomb for the win. Despite being a mainstay in Orlando, Florida with the rival TNA brand, and dissing the Brooklyn neighbourhood, in a backstage segment—Bobby Roode received a hero’s welcome in hipster town. His “Glorious” theme song, an infectious ballad reminiscent of Queen, was a runaway hit when it first debuted, and fans wasted no time reciting it as he prepared to make his debut.
