The recent airing of Monday Night RAW witnessed tag team duo The Dudley Boyz turn heel and attack The Usos, which did come as a surprise and despite many rumours floating around, the real reason for the turn is revealed, reports dailywrestlingnews.com.
The change of events was set in motion by WWE, who kept in mind the success Bubba Ray Dudley had when turning heel as Bully Ray on TNA. The turn worked wonders with the fans on the latter franchise. WWE hopes for similar success for Bubba now that he’s an employee and hopes he becomes a star in his own right.
However, this could spell bad news for The Dudley Boyz team as the two might have to split in order to accommodate the new plan.
Bubba had astounding success when he adopted the Bully Ray title at TNA, and was at the centre of many important events and storylines, which made him a hit even without his partner D-Von against whom he feuded in many integral events at TNA.
The Dudley Boyz as a team made a surprise return to RAW last August, where they quickly became fan favourites. How the change will affect them remains to be seen.
