The rumour mills are hot and churning, the fans are eagerly waiting and especially, WWE can’t stop the inevitable. Well, when you can’t stop the inevitable the smart thing is to ride the current. And it looks like WWE will do the smart thing here.
Shane’s Monday night Raw has been above average for the last three weeks. It seems as if WWE was holding back some brilliant things to put over Shane with the fans in a major way. And for most part, it has worked. But, there has been a small glitch all the way.
Fans are not obviously buying the ‘huge social media support’ thing and the novelty of Shane running the show is beginning to wear off. And before fans start losing interest in this angle, WWE needs to do something. Not to say that Payback is also about to come and we haven’t seen either Triple H or Stephanie on television since WrestleMania.
Several rumours have confirmed that WWE is looking to get on with the storyline once and for all by pitting Shane against Authority on next week’s Raw. Though the original plan was to let Shane run Raw until Payback, WWE officials have decided to pit the McMahons in the ring next week to capitalize on the scenario before audience lose interest.
It can also be noted that neither Shane nor The Authority has been advertised for next week’s Raw. Moreover, we also have the in-ring debut of Gallows and Anderson and we also want to see how Roman reacts to the attack. If WWE decides to go with this booking, then this week's Raw is going to be explosive.
