WWE Rumours: Triple H was against Shane facing Undertaker at WrestleMania 32

Not on the same side this time

The bad blood hasn’t abated between the McMahons and Triple H. It was reported some weeks ago that Vince and Triple H’s relationship is a little frictious ever since Shane McMahon returned.

Well, we now learn that Triple H didn’t share everyone else’s enthusiasm about Shane’s return and sold short the ginormous pops he got when he set foot on RAW. According to dailywrestlingnews.com, Hunter openly opposed Shane as the Undertaker’s opponent in Hell in a Cell, but Vince has thrown his weight firmly behind his son.

There are backstage murmurs of Vince being persuaded to name his successor and many assume that Triple H and Stephanie are the obvious choices. This has upset Vince and there are whispers that he using Shane as his bluff. Triple H is strongly against Shane being involved in the WWE in any capacity after WrestleMania 32.

It seems out-of-the-blue that Vince would bring Shane in to take the helm, especially after the appearance that Triple H has been groomed all these years for the throne. But this recent discord, coupled with their disagreement on NXT’s future and the incident that Triple H missed a Michael Cole slip-up have begin to cast doubts.

On a recent segment on RAW, Dean Ambrose asked Triple H if he liked Shane McMahon. This was under direction from Vince McMahon, apparently and left Hunter disgruntled. There are reports that Vince was determined to bring in The Rock for a match at WrestleMania but was undercut by Triple H, who convinced him that a non-wrestling appearance would work just as well or better. Triple H later created the angle between him and Reigns that led to WrestleMania’s main event.
