WWE/UFC Rumours: Conor McGregor to be at Wrestlemania 33

The Notorious One may go head to head with The Game at Wrestlemania!

Will the UFC Lightweight Champion be involved with The Game?

Triple H has not hidden the fact that WWE is interested in getting Conor McGregor in the WWE, even if it is just for a small segment.

Getting the biggest box office draw in UFC history to Wrestlemania would truly be a huge deal for the company. All Wrestling News reported that if McGregor is to come in and work a program for WWE, it will very likely be with Triple H. The report stated that it is very unlikely that it will be in a match.

It will be more likely to be a verbal segment where the UFC Lightweight Champion gets to show off some offence against The Game, similar to when Ronda Rousey managed to beat down Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at Wrestlemania 31.

Both Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor are rumoured to be on the card for Wrestlemania 33,  so it would be interesting to see how WWE would choose to play it out if they manage to get both. McGregor’s agent Audie Attar stated that they were willing to listen to offers from WWE.

Triple H himself in an interview with The Telegraph praised McGregor for having it all – the personality, the skills, the talk, saying that he is an “entertainer for sure”. He also mentioned that McGregor’s small size wasn’t an issue anymore for WWE, as there are smaller guys who are stars as well.

Triple H was even spotted in UFC 205, which was headlined by Conor McGregor, leading to speculations of WWE wanting to get Conor McGregor for an appearance in the future.

Conor McGregor had previously bashed WWE wrestlers (with the exception of Triple H and the McMahons) calling them “dweebs”.

While his comments did stir up a lot of talk, it went exactly as Conor would have wanted it to. He was attempting to get more publicity for his then-upcoming UFC 202 fight against Nate Diaz, which he did successfully get. Many WWE superstars past and present had reacted to McGregor’s comments on Twitter and elsewhere.
