WWE world champion Sheamus attacked by fan at live event

The Celtic Warrior was hit by a bottle at a live event

- Reports indicate that WWE World Heavyweight champion Sheamus was hit on the head by a bottle thrown by some fan in the audience on Sunday night at a WWE live event. The event took place at Huntington, West Virginia.

Fortunately, the attack didn’t lead to any sort of injury to Sheamus, who was understandably taken aback by the sudden hit following his hard-fought match in the main event against Roman Reigns.

Eyewitnesses report that the fan was caught by the authorities and detained immediately. From the accounts of everyone present, it was an isolated attack and it is unknown whether the attacker was inebriated. Given WWE’s stringent security policy, it is unlikely that the fan in question will be allowed into another WWE live event anytime soon.

There has been a number of fan attacks reported this year, with Sheamus’s opponent Roman Reigns being involved in one a few months ago. It was during a live event in Australia that a fan in the audience decided to throw a replica Money in the Bank briefcase at the Samoan who was left stunned for a few minutes from the attack.
