#4 AEW shouldn't put the Women's title back on Nyla Rose

Hikaru Shida gives Nyla Rose her rematch at AEW Full Gear.

In a rematch from Double or Nothing earlier this year, Hikaru Shida will defend her AEW Women's World Championship against the Native Beast, Nyla Rose. Beyond the fact that Rose is the #1 contender via the AEW Power Rankings, there really wasn't a whole lot of story given to this match.

Most people believed that Dr. Britt Baker DMD would be in this spot against Shida at Full Gear, but it looks like the company is holding off that match for a bit longer.

If one thing is evident with the AEW women's division in 2020, it's that Baker is going to be the centerpiece of that division going forward in 2021 and beyond. Putting the title back on Rose makes little sense right now because having her against Baker for the title would probably force the fans to cheer for someone the company doesn't want them to.

As talented as Rose is, it's not her time right now. Shida and Baker is the money match for AEW going forward and just what they need to establish their women's division as a credible entity going forward. Rose's time will come around again, but it's not this Saturday night.
