Which AEW wrestlers could be set to undergo a change in character and personality soon on AEW television?

AEW currently boasts one of the biggest rosters in all of professional wrestling.

The All Elite Wrestling roster has so much talent at its disposal that it could be seen as a weekly challenge to figure out how to feature as many talented wrestlers as possible on AEW Dynamite, AEW Dark and AEW Dark: Elevation.

With so many talents currently under contract, it's important that wrestlers continually innovate and keep their characters fresh to stay ahead of the chasing pack.

One such way to freshen up a character is by switching from a heel to a babyface. There are several wrestlers on the AEW roster that would certainly benefit from switching from being a "bad guy" to being a "good guy."

With that in mind, let's take a closer look at five AEW stars who should turn face soon.

#5 Current AEW Women's World Champion Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., recently fulfilled her destiny when she captured the AEW Women's World Championship.

Defeating former champion Hikaru Shida at Double or Nothing 2021, Britt Baker became the AEW Women's World Champion for the first time in her career. This was the culmination of an incredibly long journey for Baker in AEW.

The real-life dentist was positioned as the face of AEW's women's division when the company first launched in 2019. However, fans failed to buy in to her bland and generic babyface character.

It was only when Britt Baker turned heel in early 2020 that fans truly began to have an interest in her gimmick and persona. The comedic and over-the-top segments with Tony Schiavone and Rebel on AEW Dynamite quickly turned Baker into one of the most over characters in the entire promotion.

As is the case with any good heel, you can only stay as a bad guy for so long until the crowd begins to cheer for you. This is currently the position that Britt Baker finds herself in. Due to her increasing popularity, it feels inevitable that AEW's resident dentist will soon turn babyface once again.

#4 Current AEW FTW World Champion Brian Cage

Current AEW FTW World Champion Brian Cage is one of the most physically imposing wrestlers in all of All Elite Wrestling.

Since debuting at Double or Nothing in 2020, The Machine has been managed by former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Taz. This has led to Taz recruiting more AEW wrestlers for his stable known as 'Team Taz.'

Talents such as Ricky Starks, Hook and Powerhouse Hobbs have all joined Brian Cage in the ranks of Team Taz. However, it looks as if there could be issues amongst the ranks on the horizon.

Heading into their match at Double Or Nothing this year, Hangman Adam Page questioned whether Brian Cage needed Team Taz to do his bidding for him. In the closing moments of their match at the pay-per-view, Team Taz attempted to interfere on Cage's behalf.

This led to Brian Cage telling his teammates that he didn't need their help, before being met by Page's Buckshot Lariat, causing The Machine to be defeated.

This loss, plus the continued dissent between Brian Cage and Team Taz looks set to only end in one way. That's with Brian Cage turning face and leaving Team Taz for good on AEW Dynamite.

#3 Current AEW wrestler Kip Sabian

Kip Sabian is currently out of action after undergoing surgery following an attack from former tag team partner Miro

AEW star Kip Sabian is currently sitting on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury. The injury was so severe that the British wrestler was forced to undergo surgery in May 2021, putting Sabian out of action for several months.

In order to write Kip Sabian off AEW television, former tag team partner Miro viciously attacked him on an April edition of AEW Dynamite.

Kip Sabian and Miro had been tag team partners ever since the current TNT Champion's AEW debut in September 2020. Sabian revealed that Miro would be his best man for his upcoming wedding to Penelope Ford.

This then began a feud with The Best Friends which ultimately culminated in a highly entertaining Arcade Anarchy match on the March 31 episode of AEW Dynamite. However, after losing the match, Miro seemingly snapped over the course of several weeks, eventually attacking Kip Sabian and placing him on the shelf.

Once Sabian is medically cleared to return, it will make sense to feud with his former tag team partner who injured him. Given that Miro is currently in the middle of a monster heel push, Kip Sabian will likely return as a babyface to feud with The Bulgarian Brute.

#2 Current AEW tag team The Acclaimed

AEW tag team The Acclaimed are one of the fastest rising tag teams in all of All Elite Wrestling.

The team of 'Platinum' Max Caster and Anthony Bowens have quickly captured the imaginations of both the AEW audience inside arenas and those watching at home.

Caster's highly entertaining freestyle raps prior to the match, in addition to the excellent tag team action, have catapulted The Acclaimed into becoming strong presences on AEW Dynamite and AEW Dark.

Caster has also released a music album to much fanfare on social media. The growing popularity of The Acclaimed's entrances and music amongst fans has led to several noticeable reactions from live audiences upon their return to AEW programming in recent weeks.

Currently positioned as heels, it feels inevitable that Bowens and Caster will eventually be turned into natural babyfaces due to the strong crowd reactions they continue to receive.

Having previously feuded with The Young Bucks, The Acclaimed could turn babyface to feud with the now heel AEW World Tag Team Champions in a long-term program on AEW television.

#1 Current AEW wrestler Wardlow

Wardlow is seen by many fans and critics to be a future AEW World Champion

AEW wrestler Wardlow is arguably one of the talents currently on the AEW roster with the most potential.

Wardlow has been the muscle for fellow AEW star MJF since debuting for the promotion in 2019.

Wardlow has largely been involved in any program that MJF has been participating in at the time. This has led to incredible matches for Wardlow against the likes of Cody Rhodes in AEW's first ever Steel Cage match on Dynamite in February 2020.

Currently a member of The Pinnacle, which MJF is the leader of, Wardlow has recently been feuding with Chris Jericho and The Inner Circle. But, given his huge size and stature, many AEW fans see huge things in Wardlow's future.

The dynamic between MJF and Wardlow has even drawn comparisons between Batista turning babyface and feuding with Triple H as a member of Evolution in 2005. At some point in the near future it would make sense to turn Wardlow babyface and feud with MJF, who is arguably one of the top heels in AEW right now.

This could position Wardlow as arguably the top babyface monster in the promotion and create a new homegrown star for AEW immediately.
