“Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega and will face off at Full Gear in the finals of the World Title Eliminator Tournament.

Heading into Full Gear, Page and Omega have some underlying tension. They were members of The Elite along with The Young Bucks, and the former AEW tag team champions for 228 days. Their partnership ended when they lost the titles to FTR at All Out, but the damage was done long before that.

During their run as a tag team, cracks began to appear in their partnership as Page and Matt Jackson ended their contentious friendship. Hangman would state that he was done with the Elite but remained one-half of the tag team champions with Omega.

To make matters worse, FTR entered the scene and played Page against his former friends. It would all come ahead at All Out. After losing the match, Hangman reached out to Omega for support but The Cleaner left his former partner beaten and exposed on the floor.

Page vs. Omega is set for AEW Full Gear

Since then, they have remained distant, until now. At Full Gear, the two former friends and tag team partners will go head to head for the chance to face the AEW World Champion.

Over the last two months, Omega has recaptured the edge that fans were yearning for. Meanwhile, Page got over his troubles and delivered some excellent performances in the ring.

Many fans are expecting a revitalized Omega to be victorious at Full Gear and go on to win the championship. This would be excellent for AEW's main event scene, However, if Hangman Page becomes the number one contender, it would be a much better story.

Hangman Page was the first wrestler in AEW to express his desire to win the AEW World Championship. He was unsuccessful in his first attempt against Chris Jericho, but now he has another chance at the title and redemption.
