#3 The Young Bucks defeat FTR at Full Gear to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship

With the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line, The Young Bucks and FTR will collide at Full Gear in a contest to prove who is the best tag team in the world. This is a match of the year in the making. Back in 2016 before AEW existed and fans knew FTR as The Revival from WWE, The Bucks and FTR started this feud online.

Now, four years later, fans will witness what some are expecting to be the best tag team match of all time.

The road to this match at Full Gear has taken a few unexpected turns. Rather than just a straightforward heel vs. face dynamic, AEW opted for a somewhat confusing journey in which FTR originally came into the company as faces. Then, they shook hands and even teamed up with The Young Bucks.

However, the uneasy relationship exploded when FTR attacked the Rock and Roll Express on Tag Team Appreciation Cight much to the disdain of Nick and Matt Jackson. Since then, they have been on a collision course.

Tensions reached a fever pitch when the Young Bucks won a match to become number one contenders for the tag team titles. After the match, FTR attacked both the Jacksons, severely damaging Matt’s ankle.

The Young Bucks recently added the stipulation that if they don’t win the match at Full Gear, then they will never challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championships ever again. This may be an admirable gesture but it could also be considered ill-advised as it the second time in AEW’s short history that one of the EVPs will be unable to challenge for the top in their respective division.

Last year at Full Gear, Cody took on the same stipulation in his match with Chris Jericho and unsuccessfully challenged for the AEW Championship. As such, he will never be able to challenge for the world title again.

However, Cody was able to create the TNT Championship, but this is something the Bucks will be unable to replicate. Therefore The Young Bucks must be successful at Full Gear and become AEW World Tag Team Champions as this could be their last chance.
